Washington (CNN)Donald Trump said Saturday that had teachers been armed at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon, the deadly shooting there this week would not have been as tragic.
Trump has previously cited mental health issues, not guns, as the biggest cause of shootings in the U.S. But his comments on Saturday are his most extensive and emotionally charged about firearms since he launched his campaign in June, as he spoke about his personal gun ownership and elicited his biggest applause of the afternoon in discussing gun rights.
"By the way, it was a gun-free zone," he said at a campaign event in Franklin, Tennessee. "Let me tell you, if you had a couple teachers with guns in that room, you would have been a hell of a lot better off."

Most of those that are in charge of the schools aren’t really there for the children, they are there to indoctrinate the future generation. Anti-gun is part of that indoctrinate. The Sheep are not to stand up to the government.

Silly. Teachers should be responsible for teaching, not for defending students against an armed killer.
Although there is no guarantee anything will work 100% against a determined maniac, security guards, experienced and trained, is the best option. Also, screening students entering a school building would have stopped this killer.
Even allowing students to carry, unless they are highly trained, might result in mayhem. Can you imagine a dozen or more students firing in different directions in the same room? Guns in the hands of novices or those uninterested in obtaining the proper training could cause more harm than good.

This line of thinking has been proven false time and again.
Every local that has increased the number of CCW holders has seen a decrease in crime. “Proper training requirement” is nothing but another feel good barrier the left tries to throw at the Constitution.

So did you get that from the “Moms Demand Action” website? Allowing legally qualified CHL holders (over 21 years old) would likely not result in a dozen of armed people in the same room on your average college campus. Even if it did is dying in place with no chance to defend yourself somehow better?

If you could ask the Newtown teachers if they could have a do-over, they would no doubt have preferred to have shot Adam Lanza than to have used their bodies to heroically shield the kids from him.

It only takes one shot on target to put the perp down....you don’t need to be highly trained to do that...
The idea that a dozen students carrying in the same classroom would all be firing in different directions is not logical....
Sooo, the teacher will be the first one shot. Tell this to the same folks that advocate open carry. Robber case joint. Sees who’s holstered. Comes back minutes later blasting.
