Israel to provide Russia with intelligence about Syrian opposition .

Tuesday, 06 October 2015 10:30

Israel will provide Russia with intelligence information about opposition sites in Syria to facilitate Moscow’s military operations, Channel 2TV has reported. The Israeli network said that a senior delegation of Russian army officials will arrive in Israel on Tuesday to coordinate the military cooperation.

The delegation will be led by First Deputy Chief of General Staff General Nikolai Bogdanovsky, who will meet his Israeli counterpart, Major-General Yair Golan as well as senior officials in Israeli military intelligence, the air force and the Mossad. Channel 2 noted that the visit follows the meeting between Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow three weeks ago.

According to the media report, Israel will submit more requests to the Russians in exchange for “attractive” offers to facilitate the Russian army’s military operations in Syria. It also revealed that Netanyahu and Putin have agreed on several issue in principle, including a Russian pledge to stop the flow of weapons from Syria to Hezbollah, as well as to allow the Israeli air force to carry out operations freely in Syria, even in areas where the Russian army is stationed on the Syrian coast.

Senior officers in the Russian and Israeli air forces will discuss the mechanisms for the coordination of Israeli overflights of Syrian airspace to avoid any conflict with Russian aircraft on operations against opposition groups. Israel is likely to request Russia to coordinate its moves in the Mediterranean in a manner that does not affect Israeli submarines gathering intelligence about Lebanon and Syria.

Another report by Israel Radio on Sunday claimed that Tel Aviv will provide vital intelligence to the Russians in a bid to reduce Iranian influence in Syria.

Meanwhile, Israel’s former Foreign Minister, Tzipi Livni, has called for direct cooperation with Iran and Hezbollah in order to protect Israeli interests. Maariv newspaper quoted Livni as saying on Friday, “Netanyahu must understand that the world looks at Iran and Hezbollah as legitimate partners in the confrontation against Daesh.” She warned that Tel Aviv’s geostrategic position will be hurt if the Israeli leadership does not realise what must be done do to influence the shifts in the balance of power in Syria.

” After Putin and Netanyahu met, an Israeli military officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Reuters the countries would focus on aerial operations in Syria and “electromagnetic coordination”.

The latter appeared to refer to the sides agreeing not to scramble each other’s radio communications or radar-tracking systems, and devising ways of identifying each other’s forces to avoid any unintended confrontation in the heat of battle.

Israel and Russia will also coordinate on sea operations off Syria’s Mediterranean coast, where Moscow has a major naval base, the Israeli officer said.”

I have never seen Russian (USSR) intervention that wasn’t designed to capture and hold territory. I have never seen Russia (USSR) speak truthfully when it came to overseas campaigns.

I’m not sure what the newbie comment was supposed to address, other than the fact that Russia even here said it was going to be taking out ISIS, and instead (at least in part) attacked it’s own people who were revolting.

That’s something a newbie would most certainly buy into.

Some folks have.

This situation is far from over, and Russia setting up a very large presence in the Middle East won’t lead to an overall good.

Lest we forget, Russia was supplying Iran with it’s nuclear technology. Look where that has led with Russia’s cooperation and defense.

Just because we have a Islamic/Marxist anti-American traitor at the helm, it does not mean Russia is a good player. It merely makes Russia a good exploiter.

Israel must adjust to RussiaIran becoming a major player in the Levant = the price of containing Saudi and Turkish (and US) funded sunni extremism and chaos in Syria

We live in interesting times

Israel trust Putin more than Obama.

And so do I.

In fact I would trust Stalin or Hitler more than I do that traitorous sack of excrement that has been desecrating the Oval Office since January 1, 2009.

God willing, the last day of this tragic episode of lies, treachery, and deceit will end on Jan 20, 2017. Of course that's based on the assumption that there will still be a USA on that glad day, and it's entirely possible that there won't be.

I am not unfamiliar with the term. However, the way you used it is arrogant. Since you are older and wiser than “newbs” I suggest you contribute to this FReepathon for them. You are more worthy, old timer.

I’ve been reading some of the comments here of those that say there is a Russian conspiracy going on with Iran that will be bad news for Israel. I have been watching for Israel to voice a concern.

Now this! I think it’s hilarious and just love it.

It looks like Putin and crew could quite likely be the saviors of the middle east after all.

I’d like to be a fly on the wall at the white hut.

“I have never seen Russia (USSR) speak truthfully when it came to overseas campaigns.”

The familial and economic relationship between Russia and Israel is much deeper than most people know. The Jewish oligarchs in both countries are not about to upset their mutually beneficial financial relationship.

Putin is much more interested in blowing up the Soros/NWO banksters who tried to destroy Russia. That Putin issued an arrest warrant for the Nazi Soros tells me that he’s serious about destroying the thieving international fascist oligarchy.

Well you do raise an interesting point. I still think Russia has a lot to gain by taking over the oil rich lands of the Middle East.

Is Iran it’s proxy in that effort? I’m not convinced in the long run it isn’t.

We have mismanaged Russia on the order of Libya and Syria >IMO.

We could have kept Putin in our camp, and blew it.
