Lauren Batchelder was the aggressive young woman who struck a very defiant pose when questioning #Donald Trump at the No Labels Conference on October 12, 2015. She is the kind of Republican the GOP establishment prefers. A look at her LinkedIn profile is quite revealing:

1. Her LinkedIn photograph shows her smiling with John McCain. It is not difficult to get such a picture but it is an interesting choice.
2. She lists her experience as a Campaign Intern #Jeb Bush for President 2016 2015 – Present (less than a year)
3. Causes Lauren cares about:
   • Arts and Culture
   • Civil Rights and Social Action
   • Education
   • Environment
   • Human Rights
   • Disaster and Humanitarian Relief
   • Politics
   • Poverty Alleviation
   • Social Services
   • Women's rights

Women's rights? Civil rights and social action? Batchelder's causes would be more likely to be found among among supporters of Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders than any Republican candidate.

Oh wait, she does support and work as an intern for Jeb Bush. It would be fascinating to see Bush respond to questions from her on these causes important to her. He must meet her litmus tests on these issues enough to inspire her to work for him. Or is she working for a man who she thinks opposes her causes? Is a puzzlement.

Maybe. Or maybe she defines those things differently than they do. Women's rights might conceivably mean no genital mutilation. Civil rights might mean valuing gains that were made in the past.

Her interests certainly do look suspect, but if she said she cared about the environment, that's something that people "care" about in different ways. The environment doesn't necessarily belong to one side or the other.
