Obama heard about all the young boys in Afghanistan.
His ISIS buddies will need a place to re-group after the russians roust them out of syria and iraq.
Because Opie thinks a republican will win in 2016 and he is determined to make things as complicated and messed up as possible?
Why Is Obama Staying in Afghanistan?
With any luck he’s looking for a little protection for when he settles down after destroying America.
However much he likes the Taliban, he doesn’t dare want us to leave and have the Taliban kill all those darling boy rapists.
He wont verbally admit he trucked up Iran by pulling out. This decision is all but an admission. Good enough for me to gloat, shame the LIV cant put 1 + 1 together.
Heroin has made a comeback, hasn’t it? Why did we go there in the first place? Why is the Mexican border do porous?
I think that's exactly what he wants, but don't go by me.
Jesus Christ: You cant impeach Him and He aint gonna resign.

We have ZERO interests there. None.
Zip.
Nada.
Obama has been all about putting off his political problems till the next president. I think that he was trying to set up a political problem for Hillary or the rRepublicans but the disintegration of the situation in Afghanistan happening faster then he thought and he wants it to happen when the next president is in office
I wish Obama *would* stay in Afghanistan...
you beat me to posting the reason
Why Is Obama Staying in Afghanistan?
1. Think "Dienbienphu" and "Khartoum".
2. You can't have a great Moslem Afghan victory and dragging of the bodies, if you don't have American bodies to drag.
3. Obama intends to teach those smartypants, all-that white Americans a lesson, something that won't wash off with Bab-O.
I think Rush hit the nail on the head with the thought that our departure from Afghanistan would leave an opening for Putin to go in there and take his glory away from him.
Incorrect. We have an interest in denying Al Qaeda a sovereign-state base of operations, same as in 2001.
We have an interest in denying the Taliban access to state power, by helping other factions less odious.
Staying to help secure the drug trade indicates that 0bama’s donors include the Cartels. I’d buy that.
If only our policy there had been based on that. If we had just supported various tribal leaders and killed Taliban and AQ we could succeed in those objectives. Our mistake was in trying to set up a national government. Afghanistan consists of city states surrounded by tribal territory. The bulk of the population are tribesmen who recognize no authority above their tribal leaders, and will therefore oppose anyone who attempts to impose one, no matter who runs it. When we first went there our spec ops guys showed them pictures of 9/11 and told them they were there for revenge on the Taliban and AQ. The tribesmen accepted that. They understand and appreciate the concept of revenge. They didn't really want the Taliban running the place either, so they were OK with it. We could and should have continued working with tribal leaders and paying them off. Instead we tried to force a central government down their throats, and drove them straight into the arms of the Taliban. If you are going to play the game there, you have to play by their rules, not ours.
The number of hectares of Poppy fields is at a record high. In 2001 (before US involvement) there were about 10,000 hectares of opium fields. There are currently over 200,000 hectares of poppy fields. The rise in heroin addiction in the US and Europe is directly correlated to our presence there. The same can be said about Vietnam in the 60s.
The British used to have a custom -- a law -- that admirals who didn't fight hard enough and who lost a battle, would be executed by firing squads on their own quarterdecks.
The British did this a couple of times.
Pour encourager les autres, as they explained to the French.
