Beneath the headquarters of America’s premier crime-fighting organization, one of the parking ramps has been condemned because corroded pieces of the ceiling were falling on cars.
Netting hangs on the Ninth Street facade to prevent broken concrete from hitting passersby 160 feet down on the sidewalk below. During a July fire drill, half of the building’s alarms didn’t go off.
For more than a decade, leaders at the Federal Bureau of Investigation have warned that the bureau needed to replace the J. Edgar Hoover Building, a concrete fortress designed as a symbol of strength that has instead come to serve as a lesson in government inaction.
“Where else in the city is there something like that? The answer is nowhere,” said Dan Tangherlini, a former administrator for the General Services Administration, which oversees federal real estate. “In the private sector you would never do this. You would just fix it up.”

I imagine it will be like other department replacements — over budget, full of ego, an architectural exercise in idiocy, and full of stupid features for every group that the government panders to in inclusions.
They had massive overruns of the VA hospital in Denver. The government spent all the money already.

Get it out of Washington. Build it in San Antonio and it will be finished over a long weekend. While they are at it, move the Redskns here. I would love a team called the San Antonio Banditos.
The FBI has been scheming to get a shiny new headquarters for some years now.
This is just another ploy to get that building.
To guarantee they get funding for that new Taj Mahal, they will exonerate Hillary in their findings on her traitorous email scam. Obama and Hillary will then reward them.
As an aside...
We have a community mailbox. It has not received any maintenance in 20 years and it is battered and rusted.
To me, this is a statement on our nation. The government is letting these little things go you have to wonder about things we can not see...

They should get money to renovate their current building, nothing more. I like their design, the brutalist style architecture is so ugly that it’s beautiful.
