George W. to the Rescue

Breaks self-imposed retirement from politics to attack conservative darling Ted Cruz

We haven’t heard much from President George W. Bush during the past seven years. After leaving office with approval numbers in the high 20s, he made a conscious decision to keep a respectful distance from Washington, to refrain from becoming the Pundit-in-Chief criticizing his successor’s every move.

“He deserves my silence,” Bush said of the newly elected Barack Obama. “I think it is essential that he be helped in office.”

Indeed when the Left was going wild in Obama’s first term, all the Bushes went mum. George W. was suddenly applauded by elites in both parties as a gallant statesman when he announced that he wouldn’t criticize his successor.

Thankfully, grassroots Republicans didn’t agree. And when the Tea Party upstarts helped the Republican Party roar back in the 2010 midterms, the Bushes knew they were revolting not only against Obama, but against Bushism.

President Bush broke his self-imposed silence in January 2011, in a speech at Southern Methodist University. The only problem was, he wasn’t attacking Obama, but conservatives. Addressing the immigration debate, he said: “[I]f you study history, there are some ‘isms’ that occasionally pop up…. One is isolationism and its evil twin protectionism and its evil triplet nativism.”

George Bush kept us safe after 9/11, made us agile before Katrina, and had us well prepared during the financial collapse.

"Fair trade = socialism"

I think Harley Davidson is a perfect example of what a prudent targeted tariff can accomplish, they went from possible extinction to worldwide success.

“I consider this to be one of Ted Cruz’s most impressive endorsements to date.”

Yup.

“....I hope it gets Cruz at least 15 points in the polls.”

Maybe it will, and that would be poetic justice at it’s best!

“One thing we know about the Bushes, they keep grudges. ..”

Unless you’re a liberal.

Whoever does Twitter, please RT a few of Cruz’s tweets:

He needs our support right now.

George W. once called me a bloviator. I'm still not positive what that is, but I don't think he meant it as a complement.

He can attack Cruz all he likes. I think Cruz is the best in the field, but most people like my pronouncements the same as they like Bush's.

Jeb is selling the same snake oil George W. tried to sell. Jeb has even added some snake oil variations to the mix. His biggest problem is more of the market is now educated, and hardly any of the voters want it.

The more he advertises the less appealing is his product. Jeb can save a great deal of heartache and simply withdraw. He can find a Bush Castle somewhere and have a barbecue for his friends.

For the best success of their barbecue, I hope they don't invite any of W's bloviators.

I worked a union job for over 15 years. Without my union, management would have eaten us alive. Workers rights would have been fewer & not enforced. The problem is, Democrats highkacked us, like they do everything else...media, academia, hollywood, etc.

It seems to me, the Bushes, the Clintons & the zerOs have all joined forces to attempt to bring about The New World Order. Tell me how I’m wrong.

“How many intelligent FReepers are gone because they were banned by Bushbots? “

As in the famous immigration purges- FR lost a lot of border patriots to that crowd of traitors.
