[Pack of Luckies used for scale. Pack is 2-7/8" tall.]
I used to be considered a good cook by my kids and grandkids.
Since I’ve gotten old—plus took and fall and ended up with brain surgery, not so much.
My kids have taken over both Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. (I still get to make the cornbread dressing when I’m up to it, though.)
We’ve kept the menu practically the same—Turkey, dressing, fresh cranberries, and a green vegetable -—and of course, assorted home made pies.
Back in the 70s my wife and I lived within walking distance of a “Little Lanny’s” in Tulsa. We would sometimes get one and share it.
They had a steamer which got the entire sandwich hot and juicy. I guess they were juicy anyway.
They were flat out good but probably not too good for you.
Have you noticed Jersey Mike is slicing their meat and cheese slices thinner?
I hadn’t noticed.
The only Subway sandwich I think is close to money’s worth in the tuna sub.
Used to like Quiznos. They died.
Arby’s does have some pretty good stuff. Particularly like the curly fries.
Firehouse NY Steamer is my favorite. Warm pastrami, corned beef, cheese. Nice!
All the free sandwiches you can eat!
I would have just changed the name of the sub to “full” or “whole” for the big one and “half” for the smaller as soome ass the stupidity came about. It’s not really stupidity though, if they call it a footlong, it had better be that size.
Theyve always been made in France.
I’ve seen them stamped Made in USA, Mexico, France.
I like those, too, but I rarely see them in Indiana, if ever.
It all comes down to the bread and the meat, and Subway shits the bed on both of those.
Gasp....Man that looks good! Luckys too.
That’s why they changed to “32” Class” in advertising and on the boxes.
Remember when a 19” tube monitor was only 17.8” ?
Subway....a game of inches?
Cars area shitload better than they used to be. It used to be 100,000 miles was awesome, now you go that far without even needing a tuneup.
Actually, there never was - Those have always been rough-cut dimensions. Running them through the planer is a convenience... a feature. Smooth wood is much nicer to deal with. You can still get rough-cut, if you want it, but the price is essentially the same. And 'truth in advertising', in this case, will just make the labels harder to read.
Yeah I’d take the shorter bread if they’d just quit skimping on the meat. It’s almost non existent.
I eat at that shop about once a week! I can’t do their breaded chicken sandwiches, but any of the deli meat sandwiches are really good! A whole grinder is more than enough for lunch and dinner.
Yes engines are lasting much longer. So are tires and clocks. I remember when all clocks in cars tore up within a year or two.
I am not sure how much of the extended engine life is due to greatly improved motor oil.
One thing which has gotten far worse is I used to be able to work on the car or pickup and everything was there and easy to get at. I could change the water pump on my 55 Ford in 15 minutes.
BIC has always been made in France. They’re a French company.
Oh No it’s that Shrinkage Thing Again
