Former Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee withdrew Friday from the Democratic presidential race, further narrowing the already thin field of competitors facing front-runner Hillary Clinton.

Chafee, who has struggled to gain traction in the polls, announced his decision at a Women's Leadership Forum conference where other candidates also were speaking.

"After much thought I have decided to end my campaign for president today," Chafee said, while reminding the audience of his "prosperity through peace" campaign slogan. Appealing for less U.S. military intervention abroad, he said: "I would like to take this opportunity one last time to advocate for a chance be given to peace."

“Is the Lincoln Chafee a new 2016 Ford vehicle?”

Yes, I believe it’s the new scaled-down, all-electric Lincoln model mandated by Obama. The reason most people never heard of it is because Ford only sold a couple dozen of them before they discontinued the model.

“He failed to go the extra kilometer.”

Technically, I believe that should be the next 1.609 kilometers.

At least these Dems are living in reality.

There are 10 Republicans that have no chance and won’t throw in the towel.

Hot Air had some tweets at their post (link: http://hotair.com/archives/2015/10/23/lincoln-chafee-calls-it-a-day/ ]:

Dave Brown @HPEditor
Clinton and Sanders are in a mad competition to pick up the 0.001% of the voters who were in the Lincoln Chafee camp.

Joe Scarborough @JoeNBC
Damn. I guess I’m not going to be able to unload all these “Feel The Chafe” T Shirts. Bad investment.

Scott Lincicome @scottlincicome
Chafee was the litre America deserved, but not the litre it needs right now

Alexandra Jaffe @ajjaffe
Aw man. Announcer mispronounces Chafee’s name, as he arrives on stage to drop out of presidential.

How much is 0% when you convert it to the metric system?

If you multiply by 5/9's and then divide by Avogadro's Number, you should get the correct answer.

Breaking news? The only person this news was breaking upon was Chafee himself.

Who?

A party jumper. A former RINO and present Dhimmicrat along the lines of Jumpin’ Jim Jeffords and Gay Charlie Crist

Anyone else get the impression, that Hillary will get the nomination by default, due to lack of any serious challenger??

Yes, if you want to convert rather than completely alter the phrase.

who will pick up the combined 0% of democrat voter free agents now that Chaffe and Webb are gone?

I think that Martin O'Malley will inherit the 0% Chafee vote without much competition.

He was the only one in the debates to actually say anything: “I don’t have any scandals”. This was the only challenge to Her Highness, albeit oblique. God save our republic.

Bernie Sanders made it clear that he represents a fake opposition to Hillary's coronation when he said that "Americans are sick of hearing about the damn emails." If he were sincerely challenging her candidacy, he wouldn't have so abjectly and obsequiously run to her defense. He's just in there to make it look like an election rather than a coronation.

In contrast, the GOP field isn't nearly as willing to stand behind the RNC's plans for handing the crown and scepter over to Bush the anointed.

Nah, making room for Jebito Bushario. Hillary's’ new running mate.

Makes one really wonder why so many low polling Republicans are still hanging around sucking up air and press coverage....

At this point, I think some of them are just in it just to keep their supporters from crossing over to Trump.

I think you're exactly right...

Hillary did not SCROOOOOO the pooch in either the debate or the Benghazi hearing.

Thus the DNC is confident that they can drag her sorry carcass across the finish line with promises of student loan forgiveness and other free sh**.
