The planning stages for TCMS XI are in the works. At this point the plan is to hold the event in October 2016. (Yes, I know that is a looonnnggg way away!) The range we are considering is Hiciksville Range, in Gatesville. The closest lodging we could find is in Whitney.
We have already had one recon trip, which was not very productive due to heavy rains. The entire recon crew checked out one of the places we are considering staying. The majority of us fell in love with the place, even though it was a gloomy weekend. It made for some fun joking about being the perfect place to film a horror movie, especially with the creepy & trashy road to the resort. We all agreed that the pavilion was awesome; it is big enough to hold all of us without bumping into each other.
NYTexan & BuckeyeTexan checked out the other place. I liked it from looking at their website, but was not impressed with the pictures that Buckeye sent me. She & I are going to do another recon so that I can see it in person. There is also one more location we will look at. The one negative for both of those places is the size of their pavilions ~ we need lots of room to move & mingle.
Next week Eaker, humblegunner and I are going to Hicksville Range for a look see and discuss pricing.

True statement. What the husband and i have is a garage apartment with a double bed and just added yesterday a twin bed also. We live 5-6 minutes from Cherokee lodge. We'd have more room in the house if i were a better organized but just had to clean out the home of a deceased family member and its all crammmed in the guest room and living areas of the house. My winter of culling, trashing and distributing is cut out for me.
Anyone interested without a bunk just ping me. I'll private message information. Nothing fancy out there but has the beds, bathroom and kitchen. We have 5 kids and 20 grandkids so its the overflow for our family (or friends)

You can stay with me. I’m sure I can find a spot. Not sure if I will be alone or not. Haven’t heard from my usual bunk-mate. :) I just let the day pass to finish paying. Ugh. I did put a call in to Scott, though...got the answering machine. Of course.

I don’t even know yet. I made a deposit but can’t remember what it was. I’ll have to look it up. We can deal with that when we get there if you’re good with that. Be easier that way.
If you wish, we can meet up in the Dallas area and drive down together. I still have to find out if laurenmarlowe is going to get to come. I sure hope so! She would be missed.

Yes, Luvvy! Lord willing, my husband Logitech and I will be there. We have our room reserved at Cherokee Village. We’re very much looking forward to this, to meeting you and all the other FRiends. :-)
