“But Disney didn€™t move to replace their IT dept to save bucks. The dept was in serious trouble and had been for awhile. Disney hired a contract company to bail out its IT dept and that company performed several projects on time under budget and most important, compared to their in house IT, finished products that actually work.”

So if what you are saying is true, why, if these American workers were so bad, has Disney more or less demanded that they stay on and “train” their replacements? When I was an Engineering Manager, I got rid of under-performers and I didn't keep them on the payroll to train their replacements. That's simply inviting a disaster.

I don’t work there but I can speculate:

Disney is making much needed wholesale changes to the IT dept.

They’ve got a Billion with a B dollar My Magic Plus Architecture that is over budget, behind schedule, and non functional in key areas and glitchy in other areas.

They are bringing in fresh eyes to fix the multiple problems. With a Billion Dollar Infrastructure, the new designers will need extensive appraisals of where and how things got to currently be.

We aren’t talking about a simply piece of techware.

Very Clear. Too bad he didn’t point out that Cruz supports 500% increase in H1B, Rubio only 300%. End H1B. Period.

And. What I’m saying is true that Disney’s IT has been horrible.

Ask any travel agent you know what they think about Disney’s IT platform.

Trump’s ship was never wronged. He was misquoted by Quick, and then took a pass on the H-1B issue. Trump’s decision was tactical. You could see it in his eyes and he took the measure of Rubio that night. He seemed determined to tread lightly around Rubio, sensing Marco was well-prepared to strike back hard as he did against Bush. Incredibly, despite Trump savaging Marco in speech after speech, Rubio had NO attacks on The Donald whatsoever, because Trump did not open the door to them. BRILLIANT.

What kind of BS is that, supporting foreign workers over American workers. You say the American workers suck, what is your proof?! I actually know some of these Disney workers and they are quite talented, else they wouldn’t have been at Disney in the first place. Shame on you.

Exhibit C - Disney IT dept sucked and they deserved to be fired:

This is where the entire online architecture collapsed during a routine event, the release of their free dining promo.

Best comment, “Let’s face it, if we did our jobs like Disney IT, we’d all be fired.”

I hadn’t thought of that but now that I think back you are right. It did seem a little strange.

The same happens in the computer gaming industry: there’s only so many competent programmers willing to relocate to LA, Redwood Shores, Austin, or Seattle.

There are plenty of American kids coming out of American schools who can’t code their way out of a paper bag. If there are QUALIFIED American applicants than yes by all means, give companies incentives to hire those first. But don’t regulate the labor market to such a degree that we stifle growth and innovation.

Remember what Reagan said were the scariest words in the English language? “I’m from the government and I’m here to help”. Well just as the government propping up failing companies with our tax dollars is wrong, do is the government mandating that you have to lower your hiring standards in order to fill jobs. Or, the government setting a rate for what you should be paying people.

Breitbart does some good reporting, but they can also be click-baity, sensationalist and wrong at times. They also tend to pepper their front page with vulgarities which can be cringe inducing.

Finally someone getting the H1b program is an abject scam. H1b is to skilled workers what illegal immigrants are to unskilled.

The program needs terminated it is violated wholesale and no one does a damn thing

“Trump: Rubio is dead wrong. America produces the best and brightest in the world. It’s time to stand up for own students, many of whom are racked with terrible, terrible debt and facing a disastrous job market. We are graduating two times more students in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) than find jobs in those fields every year. We have a surplus of talented Americans and we need them to get jobs first.”

Facts very much in evidence.

I'm much more concerned with jobs that are outsourced to overseas workers than I am with H-1Bs. That's where companies can be really tempted by cheaper labor. People who have to live in America and pay the same prices for housing, food and taxes as the rest of us are not going to present nearly the same labor cost savings as an overseas third-worlder who lives in India or the Philippines.

Cruz has made the exact same argument as Trump when it comes to H-1Bs, that he wants educated foreign college students to stay and work here. I'm not crazy about promoting H-1Bs, but I think Santorum is the only guy opposing them and he's not viable until he gets in the main debates. I'm not a single-issue voter, so I wouldn't reject Trump or Cruz solely on their support for letting foreign college graduates immigrate here. It's at least better than letting unlimited, uneducated South Americans sneak over the border and sign up for food stamps and Obamacare.

http://www.breitbart.com/video/2015/07/07/cruz-proud-to-defend-trump-expand-h-1b-visas-for-educated-talented-job-creators/

He also discussed H-1B visas arguing that in the status quo, “every year US colleges and universities educate tens of thousands of foreign students who are getting masters and PhDs in engineering and math and computer science, and we’re sending them back to their countries. And as a result, they’re going back to their countries, they’re starting businesses there. They’re creating jobs there, and their companies are competing with us and taking jobs away from us. I don’t think that makes any sense.
