See Myers vs. Nebraska, 1940s SCOTUS case. Don’t remember citation. Also Yoder vs. Nebraska, dealing with Amish kids and public education. Also don’t remember citation or date.

Bibi? You don’t know him too well, do you. He’s one of the “princes” of the party, descendants of its founders but sharing none of their fathers’ values. Benny Begin’s another one, and there’s also a Meridor who’s a fellow traveler. Forget his first name.

Parents have a constitutional right to raise their kids how they want and educate them at whatever school they want.

On the up side, in Israel at present, social workers usually do sincerely want to help people, and are not the evil control freaks that are so common in the US. But with this new law, they will have absolute power, which as we know corrupts absolutely.

Bumping for future reference. My daughter is in the philosophy club at school. One of the things she chose to discuss is a 17-year old girl diagnosed with cancer, and the treatment was chemotherapy. She didn't want to do it, and the parents agreed with her. The U.S. government (maybe state?) jumped in and forced her to have treatment.

Let’s not forget how Janet Reno saved those poor Branch Davidian kids from child abuse.
