Re: Jindal poisoning the well. Republicans pretty much romped in the other statewide offices that didn’t go into runoffs, and I think we even picked up a seat or two in the state House, pending the results of the upcoming runoffs. Even the open primary for governor had Republicans winning around 57% if you count all the candidates together. I don’t think the state would vote for Jindal again, but they seem fine with everyone else, except perhaps for Vitter.

That 40-39% poll doesn’t pass the smell test. Republicans got a whopping 67% in the open primary. Unless there’s some serious disgust at Nungesser, I can’t see how he isn’t leading by a wide margin, at minimum, 20%.
