In a shocking turn of events following a rough few days, retired neurosurgeon and Republican presidential favorite Dr. Ben Carson just admitted that he fabricated the story that he was admitted to West Point, the United States' Army's military academy.
The story was originally published in Carson's best-selling 1992 biography "Gifted Hands," according to Politico, which broke the news of the fabrication. In the book, Carson said he met with General William Westmoreland, a key figure in the Vietnam War, in 1969. He claimed that the meeting was followed by an offer of a "full scholarship" to West Point.

The media is obviously targeting Dr. Carson and trying to destroy him.
The media are the ones who are lying.
Dr. Carson never said he was admitted to West Point or that he formally applied. He said he was told that based on his grades and his position in the ROTC he could have been admitted and could have gotten a scholarship.
Dr. Carson is very intelligent. It is almost certain that as an African American, a good student and an officer in the ROTC he could have gotten admitted to West Point.
I am sick of the MSM constantly lying.

Good time for the Republicans to take on their adversaries as they’ve started to with debate moderators: call them out on bias & lies, and start making arrangements to talk ONLY to objective journalists.
These creeps should listen to Rush. West Point grad said it would have looked like a scholarship to Carson since fully paid with stipend.

there is no such thing as a scholarship to west point. not only is tuition free, if you manage to get nominated and admitted, they pay you to attend.
Immediately after Carson’s poll numbers were up, the media chose to pull out the attack stories that they had been saving for just such a moment.
The leftist media has already amassed a stockpile of dirt on every Republican candidate. They go back in the person’s life to find someone who will give them something they can use.
Never fails. They do this every time.
Meanwhile, they lie and cover up information about democrats.
The media bots need to burn in hell. May they be damned.

They used to be blacks but I believe they became African American about 10 - 15 years ago. I wish they would make up their minds.

I say what Politico and Fortune are doing here is yet another high-tech lynching of an “uppity black man”, and should be responded to as such.
Yeah, I don’t jump through their hoops like so many of my fellow, well-trained Americans. I’m white, they’re black—simple. The day people start referring to me as a European American, I’ll think about changing my mind.
The media makes up one story, and then later comes around and attributes it to Ben and “debunks” it.

It should be enough to make Ben and Trump great friends, however the race shakes out for the nomination. Trump is the great bulldog siccing the media right now. We probably couldn’t have predicted any of these characters, or would have predicted a group of nothing but milquetoasts a la Jeb picking pettily at one another and taking huge offense at it.
If I may be sardonic, this current drama looks a lot less like it’s about men than it looks like it’s about God.
Unfortunate that many here believed what the media wrote so desperate for their guy to win.

Looks like Ben is getting the Herman Cain treatment.
As a Cruz supporter I say, pray for Ben Carson.
