City Council Fired by Citizens for Removing Veterans Memorial
Freedom Outpost ^ | 11/7/2015 | Michael Ware

Posted on 11/08/2015 6:45:59 AM PST by HomerBohn

Have you had the feeling that your elected representatives were not representing you? Of course, you have. We have all felt that way and not just when we were represented by those against whom we voted. But, if you could, would you remove them? Most of us would not resort to such drastic measures, but one city has.

Christian News reports

Members of a city council in Iowa voted Monday to remove a veterans memorial that included a cross from a local park, and in turn, members of the community voted on Tuesday to remove the council members from office.

The issue is over a cross and the group Americans United for Separation of Church and State. They felt that the monument, which was erected by a private citizen in a public park, was illegal. They believe that since there is a cross grave marker in the monument that the monument violates the alleged Separation Clause of the Constitution.

Christian News reports

The demand resulted in an uprising within the community, including a rally in support of the monument. But on Monday, council members voted 3-2 to have the memorial relocated to private property across the street and replaced with another display. April Verwers, Carolyn Formanek and David Roozeboom all voted against the memorial, while Dawn Allspach-Kline and Tim Pitt voted in favor of it.

In turn, on Election Day Tuesday, residents voted for Verwers and Formanek's opponents, booting them from office. Roozeboom did not seek re-election.

This meant that the city council had a choice. They could remove the monument, or they could face a trial. Most cities have faced this prospect and have caved rather than risked the city paying hefty legal fees. But Knoxville citizens did not want the monument removed.

Christian News reports

"We warned them multiple times if they let our town down they would be voted out," Allison Schmitz of Stop the Insanity posted online this week. "They didn't listen, and look, the people have spoken!"

Some would say that the city was being unreasonable. The council knows better what the city can afford and what it cannot. What does it matter anyway? It is not like people cannot be Christian, why does this monument mean so much to the people? Well, it might have to do with freedom. And they had warned the council.

Christian News reports

"I think they needed to listen to the constituents along with the rallies," newly-elected council member Rick Kingery told local television station KCCI. "The people put out 2,000 wooden crosses across town. That is a huge number. People wanted their voices heard, and they were not listened to."

And this is the point. People in our country are getting tired of being ignored. They are sick of being told that they just do not understand the issue or the Constitution. They are tired of laws, restrictions and the dismantling of the country they know and love.

Finally, the Christian can chant: "Power to the people!"

How great to see people standing up to political correctness aimed at destroying our country. Thank you Iowa for showing us how it's done.

I’m not certain. Unfortunately the city’s name wasn’t mentioned in the article and I didn’t google to see what it was, but since you mentioned it I will do so now.

Local, State and National leaders across the country have proven to be unresponsive to the expressed desire of voters.

The backlash is building and it is long past time.

Way to go People!!!

It’s way over the time for us to take back our government, be it city, county, State or Federal...

Next time your re-elected politician comes around and promises you the moon and stars and everything beyond, vote for the new person on the ballot...tell these people “We’re not going to take it anymore” and let them find out how hard it is to live in the real world....

TAX-PAYING CHRISTIAN AMERICANS NEED TO GO THIS ROUTE to nail these anti-Christian Iowa officials.....and people like Barack Obama and Loretta Lynch labeling Christian taxpayers "terrorists," Bill and Hillary Clinton imperiling taxpayers' ntl security, Lois Lerner and John Koskinen targeting Christian taxpayers....all the criminal members of Congress, and other factotums on the govt payroll.

===============================================

BACKSTORY The 1980 Georgia General Assembly was concerned about the increasing sophistication of various criminal elements on the public payroll (and those in elective and appointive office). The GA Assembly then adopted the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), patterned after a similar federal law.

(RICO is routinely used to try to prove that a legal business was being used for illegal means, and, in at its inception, RICO was used to prosecute drug traffickers or organized crime members).

In recent years prosecutors have applied RICO to crooked government officials: (1) those accused of using their public offices for personal gain, and, (2) tax-paid officials of govt agencies using public monies to flout the law.

To bring a case under Georgias RICO law, there must be at least two underlying felonies — such as fraud, bribery, witness tampering (among other felonies).

RICO allows prosecutors to include multiple defendants charged with various crimes in the blanket indictment, and to charge that govt employees, publicy-funded and publicly-sanctioned entities were allegedly part of an ongoing criminal enterprise.

EXAMPLE A govt official commits two felonies by (1) accepting, and, (2) filing falsified documents.

==============================================

HERE'S THE PATHWAY TO LAUNCH---Texas took the lead w/ 26 state AG's, successfully arguing that Obama's beatified DACA/DAPA's were made more desirable employees than US citizens.

==============================================

Any public official using tax dollars to flout that law is a lawbreaker: in cases where govt officials on the public payroll not giving public notice is a violation at the federal level of the 1946 Administrative Procedure Act, which requires notice in the Federal Register. Laws demand that taxpayers have the opportunity to submit views in writing.

===============================================

NOTE If proof is established that RICO'ed criminal public officials impaired the commercial and economic activity of the region, that could also be prosecutable under the Hobbs Act.

PRIME RICO TARGETS Boehner and his Congrssional buddies are complicit in the massive fraud, waste, and criminal use of tax dollars......and the flagrant abuse of taxpayers. They could have reeled in arrogant govt agencies conducting criminal activities (EPA, IRS, BLM, HUD, DOE and DOL). They could have defunded the criminal enterprise called "Obamacare" and the Planned Parenthood parasites living the high life w/ our tax-dollars....but to taxpayers' eternal disgust....they didn't.

The separation of church and state which liberals tout and claim it comes from the Founding Fathers which they despise, does not mean there can’t be an exercise of religion on public property. The Founders didn’t want a state-run, taxpayer funded religion shoved down their throats. It’s obvious in all these cases that liberals are grossly misinterpreting this principle. The Founders wanted the freedom to worship as they chose instead of having to embrace a religious monopoly.

The city needs to counter sue with a class action suit for attempted civil rights violations based on the 1st amendments free exercise clause and the 10th amendments reservation clause. They need to demand one dollar for each legal citizen and 10 dollars for each illegal alien (since our government and media consider them to be worth more)

Not only should they be voted out, for the next two years they should be subject to searches and seizures of property, being publicly humiliated and treated the same way they treated their district.

Wash, rinse and repeat all over the country.

“Not only should they be voted out, for the next two years they should be subject to searches and seizures of property, being publicly humiliated and treated the same way they treated their district.”

On what basis would you search them and seize their property? The humiliation will work out on it’s own there’s no need to go all police state on them, we already have enough of that these days.
