There is an Indian company in Milford, Just 10-15 miles from the company mentioned in the article.

It's an Indian company, Tata Consulting Services. They hire a lot of kids just out of college and then bring over a bunch of Indians. The kids that just graduated are teaching the Indians while the Indians earn $20,000 more per year.

I hear a lot of grumbling from the employees about the place.

I manage an apartment community only 1 mile from Tata so we get a lot of their employees. In the beginning I liked the company sending us so many rentals. As time goes by I like the company less and less.

They bring these guys in and they sign one year leases. Sometimes after only 3-4 months they are transferred to another part of the country. The Indians are the worst at breaking their leases. They don't understand why they have to pay a penalty, even though everything is clearly explained up front.

It is amazing the amount of damage they do to an apartment in just a few months.

We used to offer a special deal for Tata employees (no deposit) but we have finally stopped doing that since so many don't honor theirs leases.

If the data is not in your house it is not your data.

Same as these gold investments. If you can’t hold it in your hand you don’t own it. It can be taken from you when the cloud fails either on purpose or by chance.

The problem is that every blogger or college graduate over the last 10 years has put their spin on agile so it is so diluted it will never work efficiently.

So that explains why they bother to do university recruiting. TCS just wants people that don't know any better, can't find any better, or have any history.

What’s wrong is the system does not function to produce American workers who can do the job at a reasonable cost to the employer. The system is broken and small fixes around the edges won’t impact it enough to make the system work. H1-B is a symptom.

American universities don’t put out graduates with the skills needed. Between the ridiculous curriculum requirements, liberal professors who teach students to be victims, and in many cases the lax educational standards, many college grads are not ready to be a productive employee. The foreign born workers I’ve worked with tend to have much more hands-on work experience/training and are thankful to be in the USA. There are certainly downsides like language and culture barriers.

Government rules get in the way continuously whether it’s the huge costs of Barrycare, EEOC, ADA, OSHA, FMLA or whatever the hidden costs disincentivize hiring American workers even more.

“Solving” the H1-B isn’t a solution; it’ll just shift the problem elsewhere, likely causing more companies to outsource to India, etc. This brings its own set of problems. Concentrating on H1-Bs is playing a game of whack-a-mole. It may feel good to snack the vermin, but it ends quickly when the next one pops its head up.
