I think Donald Trump was the most presidential person on stage.

If i saw him for the very first time i would have sworn he was already POTUS.

Trump did well and almost everybody did well. I think the standouts were Rubio, Cruz, and Fiorina, though.

This won’t change the poll standings, but it may change some of the numbers. The most notable thing was the two clear losers: Kasich and Bush, who seem to be under the impression they’re running for president of Mexico.

Trump was presidential, Cruz and Rubio both showed well. But I have issues with Rubio on immigration
. But leave his credit card stuff alone. Fiorina came of as a college professor of government or history. Good as maybe a presidential advisor, bit not president. When discussing the defense budget, Trump said, “Ted and Marco are right...” I saw that interesting an presidential

The more I see of Kasich the more I wonder if he’s been taken over by Dennis Kucinich.

I listened to the debate on the radio, so the only thing I was hearing was more warmongering and statism, even from Carson. Trump continues as my #1 and only choice - though Rand Paul finally hit my radar as someone worthy of the VP slot along with Cruz. (Cruz was the only one who said the word FREEDOM- thank you)

As Billy Crystal once said, “it is not how you feel, but how you look.” I don’t care if Rubio is a cute, passionate caring man - he cares about the wrong things and cannot be trusted. !Jeb? Never No Way. Kasich, there is still time to run against Hillary for the Dem nomination.

Time for J&J, Jeb and John to pack it in.

I think Trump is different from all the rest in this vein.

All the candidates agree that we have existing problems, e.g.; immigration, monetary, labor, growth...but only Trump has struck out on a path of solutions.

I'm glad he brought up Eisenhower's immigration plan. It worked and it can work again.

I also think Trumps closing remarks were the best, less was best, from the heart, gives you hope for tomorrow.

To all Republican candidates for the Presidency:

"Ideas have consequences."- Weaver

The only path to making America "great again" begins and ends with adherence to the ideas and principles underlying the Constitution of the United States of America, as they were explained in the 35 essays of THE FEDERALIST, newspaper essays addressed directly to "the People" prior to ratification of that Constitution by the people in the states.
-------------------------

"On every question of construction, let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed."

— Thomas Jefferson, letter to William Johnson, June 12, 1823, The Complete Jefferson, p. 322.

"Our peculiar security is in the possession of a written Constitution. Let us not make it a blank paper by construction." Thomas Jefferson to W, Nicholas, 1803.

In his own 1801 Inaugural Address, after listing what he called the "essential principles" to guide his Administration, Jefferson added:

"These principles form the bright constellation which has gone before us and guided our steps through an age of revolution and reformation. The wisdom of our sages and blood of our heroes have been devoted to their attainment. They should be the creed of our political faith, the text of civic instruction, the touchstone by which to try the services of those we trust; and should we wander from them in moments of error or of alarm, let us hasten to retrace our steps and to regain the road which alone leads to peace, liberty, and safety." - Thomas Jefferson, First Inaugural, 1801

We might contrast Jefferson's understanding with today's Democrat Party "progressive" policies which, in effect, undo all the monumental work accomplished by the Founders on behalf of liberty and leave the law afloat and without anchor, relying, as of old, on mere men and women.

Trump is definitely transitioning to a Presidential demeanor.

His credit card stuff is very legitimate. Anyone who is a professional and has access to a company credit card knows darn well that you can not co-mingle funds. YOU CAN NOT USE THAT CARD FOR ANY PERSONAL BUSINESS! He also has had problems with his personal finances. Not a killer for the likes of Obama, but for a Conservative Republican it is a problem. It is the sort of thing that only a Clinton can and does get away with.

I like Rubio. He is Conservative, he is talented and is quick on his feet. He suffers from his position on immigration. He can not be trusted. Cruz is the best choice. Trump would close the border. Either would be better than Rubio.

The reason Trump is winning is because (1) he’s an American first; (2) he is an ‘outsider’ with fantastic knowledge of making things better; (3) doesn’t talk like a ‘politician’ and he talks ‘to’ us instead of the others, he talks ‘with’ us...

Trump was great and there is only one thing wrong.....

HE’S NOT IN THE OVAL OFFICE TODAY!!!

As it should be, i cannot stand how in years past how most who get elected have a drastic personality change when given the keys to the kingdom, funny as it might be to Trump he won’t let it go to his head like Obama did, first day in office he turns into a dictator. Seals his past.

I completely agree with your assessment. Trump did just fine. Unlike some of the others, he didn't need to have a "breakout" night to distinguish himself from the rest of the pack. Also, unlike prior debates, the moderators did not make the debate all about Trump, asking the other candidates: "the other day Donald Trump, said such-and-such. What do you think about that?" Rubio and Cruz are both steadily gaining ground on Carson and Trump, and are poised to challenge them for the front runner position. I thought Carly Fiorina had another good night, but just seems to be unable to get a bounce from her performances in the debates.

EXACTLY right, and as an attorney Rubio knows that full well. As an Attorney Rubio would have your license if you did that.

No excuses for RUBIO, none. In fact I would not even carry that card, he has aides that can do that. Stupid of Rubio for even giving the idea of any impropriety.

Not good, but it does say something about his honesty. If he can treat his donors with such disrespect of their money, how will he treat the taxpayers money.

Michelle Malkin was really going after Kasich on "Fox & Friends" this morning.

Kasich was born in Pennsylvania so maybe he is affected by the curse of James Buchanan, the only Pennsylvania-born President to date. Joe Biden is also a Pennsylvania native and his attempts to run for President were complete busts. Bill Scranton's run for President in 1964 became a joke. Rick Santorum wasn't actually born in Pennsylvania but maybe the curse has rubbed off on him because of his long residence there.

I’m voting for Trump, but I have to admit that Cruz took the night. Considering that the audience was stacked against him, Trump did all right.

He wasn’t as prepared as the others, though.

I’m not too worried. Debating isn’t his strong suit.

Remember “The Office Of The President-Elect”?

Had a podium with some kind of phony made up seal on it?

LOL. I will never forget that and it was a sign of things to come.
