A rather astonishing video has surfaced courtesy of the Rick Santorum campaign showing Ted Cruz, apparently during a debate over Marco Rubio's Gang of 8 "Amnesty Bill," calling for a provision that would legalize all 11-plus million illegal aliens. He even used the liberal code phrase "out of the shadows." I encourage you to watch the video and see for yourself.
Ted Cruz has stood for securing the border along with Donald Trump and Ben Carson, but he has been conspicuously silent on the issue of deporting illegals. I think the reason why is now clear. He doesn't want to deport them; he wants to legalize them. Now, Ted Cruz would be the first to say he doesn't want to give them a path to citizenship, but, realistically, once they are legalized, the left won't long tolerate a class of people here who don't have citizenship, and the left will act, through the judiciary or the executive, to legalize them. So Ted Cruz saying he opposes a path to citizenship but supports legalizing is not a tremendous difference.
Ted Cruz speaks frequently about the rule of law and constitutionalism; how can he say he supports the rule of law when he supports rewarding millions of lawbreakers with legalization? It's worth noting that Cruz has also called for expanding H1-B visas, but in that process we can at least screen for people who are educated and have marketable skills. It's not just a random set of people who decide they want to come to America. But that unvetted group, too, is what Cruz wants to legalize.

Hello!...Wake Up!
When was the last successful lawsuit on a news source for lying about a candidate?
Go to the link I provided and quit making your bogus assertions about Ted’s positions on immigration.
There is no “legalization” when you’ve self-deported because you can’t get a job or a handout!
Each of these has details at the link provided earlier:
End President Obamaâs illegal amnesty.
Increase deportations and end catch-and-release.
End sanctuary policies, sign Kateâs law, and deport criminal immigrants.
Prevent asylum abuse and criminalize visa overstays.
Prohibit illegal immigrants from receiving financial benefits and strengthen E-Verify.
Suspend the issuance of all H-1B visas for 180 days to complete a comprehensive investigation and audit of pervasive allegations of abuse of the program
Create a âlayoff cool-offâ period for all H-1B visa applications:
He clearly states he is against any kind of amnesty, 30 seconds in. Repeated again at 1:25-1:26. At 2:00 he clearly states no reward for those here illegally. It doesn’t get much clearer than that, and it doesn’t have the qualifications about citizenship that you mention.
The NYT chooses to read meaning into the El Paso speech. That was about the Gang of 8 bill, where he introduced the amendment to expose the Gang’s path to citizenship agenda. He has always been consistent on this, from the time he started to run for congress.
Believe me, there's nothing I would like more than for Ted Cruz to be clear and unambiguous in stating there will be no legal status for any illegal alien, ever. They can't stay and must be deported.
But, so far, I have seen nothing to indicate he would ever do that and have seen significant evidence that he would legalize those who are established here.
To me that's Amnesty. To many others they'll accept more nuanced definitions.
We're talking about deliberately mis-quoting.
Those types of libel suits always succeed.
Fair enough. I would like to believe that all of the candidates for president will do the right thing to protect America and help her prosper.
Nope he has adopted the Trump position. All is forgiven. </s>
Easy. If they stay it is amnesty. If they go it is not amnesty.
Unconstitutional.
Has not seemed to inhibit the current resident.
</s>
They vote either way.
Corker.
Oh Boy we are back to the Super Secret, Super Genius plan days.
Nope. Just people evolve in their views.
I’ve gone from thinking it would be worth “compromising” whit the far left and passing innocuous gun laws, just so they would leave us alone (I know, stupid dream), to recognizing that we cannot compromise with evil, and they will never be satisfied.
Both Cruz and Trump have also evolved on issues, and I am unwilling to dismiss either one based on past views being imperfect.
as former Cruz-staffer Amanda Carpenter explains, Ted didnât actually support amnesty. He only put this amendment forward in order to show to voters that the Gang of 8 wasnât telling the truth about whether or not their amnesty plans would eventually result in a path to citizenship for illegal aliens.
And the last one was.....????
With E-Verify required for both Employment and Benefits, they SELF-DEPORT...and aren’t here to vote.
Yes, E-Verify is part of the Cruz platform.

Cruz still can't best Rubio so we have little choice unfortunately.
