The “war” will have to wait for a new US administration. Our president can’t bring himself to say the words, “Muslim terror.”

I’m pretty sure that Islam has now killed more gays than the Nazis. Always fun to remind liberals of this.

Nor is it a struggle between competing sets of values, or a religious war, or a battle with an alien culture.… [I]t is in love with self-inflicted death, which it sees as the highest moral achievement.

I disagree with the author. It is a religious war. This attack was not for the sake of death alone but to advance Islam. We will not be able to respond until we acknowledge the true nature of Islam, not "radical" Islam but Islam itself.

How about stop letting them into your country for a start.

Why should everyone else have to come over there and fight them for you when you INVITE them to live there, give them generous ‘benefits’, houses, etc?

Things make so much more sence when one realizes the “peace symbol” is an upside-down cross.

Wrong.
It is religious war against us Infidels by practicing Muslims who believe there is only one God and Muhammed is God's prophet; and follow the Koran and Hadiths to the letter. -Tom

I checked out DU. Has all these threads about how ISIS is Bush fault. Those people people are delusional and in total denial.

My theory - the 'Left' (be they Sodomites, or Marxists, or whatever) - the Left has such a visceral hatred for Christianity that they will never see Islam as an evil (nor sin as an evil, for that matter). They see Islam as the 'enemy of my enemy being my friend'.
As a result, they will never condemn Islam. Any evil action by Islamics will either be due to the West, or Christians, or some other reason. Islamic terrorists could behead their own grandchildren and they still will not condemn it. To do so would be to recognize that evil exists. And the only 'evil' that the Left will recognize is Christianity - so anything that contradicts that position will be denied.

In other words - do not expect the West to 'wise up'. The Left might only make up 20% of the Population, however they make up the vast majority of the Media, the Educrats, and Government bureaucrats. Hopefully we'll get a wholesale change in leaders shortly -- but regardless, we put our Trust in God and not in man.

The last sentence is true. What you’re seeing is a defense mechanism. The president is getting low marks from the public on his handling of the ISIS situation. And that combined with his claim ISIS is contained hours before this attack is having a deep physiological impact on his supporters.

You’re looking for rational thought from people who are incapable of it. Watch the movie “Downfall” and think if what you saw on DU. It’ll be clear what we’re dealing with

They will after they use it to help destroy Western Judeo Christian culture.

And the British Rotterham rape scandal proved that in the choice between feminism and multiculturalism, feminism - and indeed, public safety - lose.
In the UK, cops were more afraid to be racist than protect 1400 plus underaged white girls getting raped by Pakistani Muslim men.

You kill and destroy unreason that is murderous.

Anything else is both insanity and suicidal.

You cannot reason with anyone determined to kill you.

DUH!

Some of us have been saying that for a long time. I am slowly, but surely marking all muslims in my community. You should be doing the same. EVERYONE who supported the Democrat Party and Obama openly are also being marked. Some folks better repent and turn around from what they’ve done or they WILL be held responsible. EITHER people have to change their minds about some things or they’re going to wish that they had done so.

More a case they are at war with us. We seem to have no intention of returning the favor.

“I disagree with the author. It is a religious war.”

I and the author disagree with you; Islam is NOT a religion. It isn’t even really a cult.

We discussed this way back in 2008.

Here’s a good link to a relevant article:

I have a different read of the author. To me it seems she is implying that ISIS is just a death cult that is a creature of itself and apart from Islam.

How can it be a religious war when the West is almost thoroughly secularized right now? France may be the most radically secular nation in all of Europe, and yet they were the ones targeted here.

Because it is a war directed by Islam to impose its religion on non-Muslims. It is not a war between religions but by one religion on all others.
