Unfortunately true Arthurus. As Ann Coulter noted about Cruz, “Too bad he isn’t eligible”. With the media showing their expected skill in pulling statements out of context, it isn’t prudent to depend upon their reports, but Cruz, while avoiding some issues important to most of us like immigration, and failing to note that more than half of those picked up by ICE fall into the OTM - Other Than Mexican - category. Cruz speaks more of the issues important to me than any other reputed candidate except, so important after Obama and McCain, that he is ineligible and lies about it. Perhaps he misconstrues, or lies, about the 14th Amendment, the “Naturalization” Amendment, which made him a citizen to gain the platform he is using so well? But without an amendment, “My first breath was as a U.S. citizen”, makes him a naturalized citizen. He knows. Rubio knows. Jindal knows. Our Constitution is concise, and does not attempt to address subtle exceptions, but we can amend it. To decide to lie about it disqualifies anyone whose oath is to Obey, Protect, and Defend the Constitution.

Any presidential candidate who announces his ethics with a tortured rationale for ignoring our Constitution, even if just this one time, cannot be trusted to protect the “rights” it was written to guarantee. Our parties and pundits yielded, afraid of being called names, or of losing their immediate income. They, like Mark Levin, yielded to Alinsky, to being called “Birthers”, when the issue is allegiance. As a father, I understand that most anyone in a public position, as is Levin, would lose his or her income by being honest about the violation of eligibility by Obama and McCain. Levin did dig out the critical letter by Madison explaining why there are not definitions in our Constitution (p 37 of Liberty and Tyranny). Who read the Constitution for what it didn’t say? Not me! Bells rang for me because system design specifications where I worked almost always included “What functionality we do not promise to deliver”.

Obama is a poster boy for why “Dreams From My Father” were deemed essential criteria for defender of our nation’s principles. Aristotle understood, Cicero understood, Leibniz, Vattel, Jefferson, Washington, Hamilton, Paine, Franklin, Sam and John Adams, John Marshall, all nine Supreme Court Justices who passed Minor v. Happersett in 1875, Chief Justice Charles Evans Hughes who was revealed as ineligible for his British subject parents when he ran against Woodrow Wilson, Justice Gray who wrote the decision for Wong Kim Ark, and cited Minor v. Happersett as precedence. Wong Kim, born to Chinese resident parents “domiciled” in San Francisco, implying that his parents were living under U.S. jurisdiction, was not made a natural born citizen. Neither are Rubio and Jindal. Cruz misses both requirements, citizen parents and sovereign soil.

I understand why FR people are willing to suppress the Constitution, just this time. I too prefer Cruz’ positions and recognize his intellect. But protecting the Constitution is more important. If we accept an alternative definition for “is”, as Bill Clinton pointed out, definitions lose their meaning. If we assume that energy can be created when it’s convenient, ignoring our 2nd Law of Thermodynamics, we can spend our gdp building perpetual motion machines, or promising s clean safe solar powered solution for electrical energy that is virtually free. The Constitution was not written in less than a year. It is the essence drawn from our first law book, assigned at our first law school, William and Mary in 1779 by its founder, Thomas Jefferson. It is the only book on Washington’s desk in New York on his first day in office in 1790.

Hopefully Arpaio put Zullo up to coming out from behind the protections of the 5th Amendment just to get the accusations against Obama and Brennan on the record. I expect that Arpaio told Zullo that he had Zullo’s back!

The info you highlighted is simply amazing. It underscores the fact that even if it takes a while, lies get peeled back eventually. It will be fascinating to find out what revelations come next.

Home grown natural-born nationalism is no longer welcome in a fundamentally transformed America.

As such, the far more multi-national Ted Cruz is exactly the right person to finish what was begun in earnest with McCain and obama.

It's all rather breathtaking to my simple mind. Consider that we are not simply being undone definition by definition, generation by generation by generation.

Not only are we, the people, doing the undoing to ourselves one definition at a time in all aspects of life and pro-life, but in this Constitutional case, the conservatives, the self-proclaimed most Constitution-lovin' of US All, are the ones leading the parade for Cruz.

Not taking anything away from Ted Cruz and his superb ability to think and speak on his feet, but this situation is mind boggling to me.

Just as mind boggling as your, my and Ann Coulter's inability to see a guy born in Canada to a Cuban father as a natural born American citizen is mind boggling to those who see Cruz as the obvious next POTUS.

I am only Mongo in game of life, but I can't help but be impressed by how far we've been progressed.
