Oh, like they have had a map of where all the various terrorist groups are... sure... oh wait

Hey obama! France is no longer the cheese-eating surrender monkey. You are the arugula-nibbling surrender monkey.

Yeah, I went there with the ‘monkey’ insult.

France should just completely level an ISIS controlled city. Utterly flatten it. In Larry Bond's "Cauldron" there is a "scene" where the US Navy levels a town to make a point. (oddly enough Metz, in France)

I think France should try it in real life. I nominate Raqqa for the 2015 "back to the stone age" challenge.

One wonders if these terrorists will all end up fleeing to Damascus ?

Then we could bomb Damascus until not a wall stands.

That seems familiar, just can’t place it.

>> France levels ISIS in Raqqa after Paris attack

But France’s citizens respond: “Why not before the terror attacks?”

France’s government replies: “You elected us.”

That was always the plan. Make it seem like you were doing something. Obama had no intention of taking out ISIS.

What’s really going on there. The Russians have supposedly been bombing the crap out of the Muslim Brotherhood when Obama didn’t properly bomb the crap out of the Muslim Brotherhood, now France just strolls in and bombs the crap out of them. How are all these targets so easy to find if they’ve been getting the crap bombed out of them. Something smells funny about the whole entire war campaign going on over there.

So if we knew where all these targets were, how come they weren’t already bombed off the face of the earth???

100 plus good people have to die first before government has to act.

Pitiful. What a charade these leaders of today play.

If one can believe they actually did this, it begs the question; why didn’t Obola have OUR air forces do this a year or more ago?

Because he's still hoping ISIS will take out Assad for him.

How many innocent civilians were killed?

Why was the French response so much more violent than the original terrorist attacks?

Those are always the first two sentences of any CNN news report when Israel attacks terrorists.

But not when France attacks.

That map has been overtaken by events (it’s dated January)

The Kurds (YPG) swept across the Northern border area with Turkey this Summer, from Iraq pretty much to the Euphrates River near Kobane. They were only about 30-50 miles North of Raqaa back then, and have inched up since then.

They will likely make up the bulk of a ground force to assault Raqaa, but they want to have a bunch of Arabs with them, so it looks like a liberation, and not a Kurdish grab of a long time Arab city.

A few thousand Arabs have been cobbled together from 15 different groups, probably enough for the political requirement and as translators/PR folks, even if they are not fully combat effective.

The Kurds from Erbil in Iraq (HDP) have a force of about 4,000 (Rojava Bde) ready to participate (mostly Kurdish defectors from the Syrian Army), but the YPG is hesitant to let them into their area, as the two Kurdish groups also compete for political control as political parties.

They worked out their differences recently to jointly seize Sinjar, and the HDP got resupply through to the YPG earlier in the war when they were in real bad shape, and no one else would help. So there is a good chance that they will work out a deal to gang up on Raqaa.

Reports on twitter that ISIS is posting flyers that all men 14 and up in Raqaa have to register, so they may soon draft folks for the defense.

Another lesson the Frogs need to learn (remember), or relearn from WW-2 is that carpet bombing is the best solution for your enemies and other vermin.
Afraid you will hit children and women?
To bad, so sad. If they are in the target cities that means they agree and support your enemies; if they were working against the bad guys, they would already be dead.

All Obama has been doing is just enough to look like he’s doing something. But not enough to do any real damage to his best friends.

That is the truth.

**War is a brutal and ugly thing.**

We have somehow forgotten that.

I fear that one day we will be forced to remember.
