Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas says he's not surprised President Obama took an apparent swipe at him when Mr. Obama on Monday said a "religious test" for admitting Syrian refugees isn't American.
"It's not surprising that President Obama's attacking me personally," Mr. Cruz said in an interview with CNN. "I'll tell you what's shameful, is that we have a president who after seven years still refuses to utter the words 'radical Islamic terrorism.' "
Mr. Cruz, a 2016 GOP presidential candidate, has said persecuted Christians should be allowed to seek refuge in the United States, but not Muslims.
...
"When I hear folks say that well, maybe we should just admit the Christians but not the Muslims, when I hear political leaders suggesting that there would be a religious test for which a person who's fleeing from a war-torn country is admitted, when some of those folks themselves come from families who benefitted from protection when they were fleeing political persecution - that's shameful," Mr. Obama said at a press conference in Turkey. "That's not American. That's not who we are. We don't have religious tests to our compassion."
...
Mr. Cruz said if his father were part of a movement like "radical Islamists" that "promotes murdering anyone who doesn't share your extreme faith or forcibly converting them," such an attitude would make sense.
"What Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are proposing is that we bring to this country tens of thousands of Syrian Muslim refugees. I have to say particularly in light of what happened in Paris, that's nothing short of lunacy," Mr. Cruz said.
...
"What I'm saying is Syrian Muslim refugees should be resettled in the Middle East in majority Muslim countries," he said.

Just heard John McNuts attack Ted Cruz this morning. He was on with Bill Hemmer and interrupted him in the final few seconds so slam Cruz! FUJM!
McPain badmouthed Ted on FOX this morning. He was supposed to listen to McPain and Linda on Syria.
Obama and McCain are traitors. No other word will suffice.
My great grandfather had to swear (to God) that he wasn’t an anarchist, polygamist, or believer in the practice of polygamy when he arrived in 1912.
The polygamy stuff sounds like a religious question to me.
McNuts attacked Trump as well. We see how well that worked out.
Swing away, McPutz!
Obama totally fell for it.
Cruz springs trap.
Want more, 0bammy?
Ted Cruz will resonate more with the American people when he says things that make sense. The more Obama goes after him, the better. It just shows the stark contrast in the two.
McCain is a disgrace not only to himself, but to his family and to his country as well. He is truly a despicable man to hate his country — the country he fought for — so very much.
{”Obama and McCain are traitors. No other word will suffice.”}
One cannot help but notice that Liberals (and McCain qualifies as his voting record is almost as liberal as some Democrats) tend to be nasty little turds on a personal level. And look how they act when they don’t get their way, when folks don’t see how brilliant they are.
Liberals always know best—in their own addled minds.
McCain's supporters.
8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(42) The term 'refugee' means (A) any person who is outside any country of such person's nationality or, in the case of a person having no nationality, is outside any country in which such person last habitually resided, and who is unable or unwilling to return to, and is unable or unwilling to avail himself or herself of the protection of, that country because of persecution or a well-founded fear of persecution on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion, or (B) in such special circumstances as the President after appropriate consultation (as defined in section 1157(e) of this title) may specify, any person who is within the country of such person's nationality or, in the case of a person having no nationality, within the country in which such person is habitually residing, and who is persecuted or who has a well-founded fear of persecution on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion. The term 'refugee' does not include any person who ordered, incited, assisted, or otherwise participated in the persecution of any person on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion.
An Immigration Judge would be required to conduct a nexus determination to ensure that the well-founded fear is as a result of religious persecution or other specifically enumerated basis. A general assertion that the conditions in the country suck would be insufficient for refugee status.
BTTT
And, McNuts is definitely addle minded!
The good news is an attacks by obama is one helluva endorsement.
CRUZ 2016!
