I lived in Rancho San Diego from July 2009 to June 2011. The Starbucks near Willow Glen and Jamacha Rd has a large patio in front. During the Summer months they sponsor a Friday evening "open mike" music event. The local Chaldean families would assemble with coffee and cigars. Board games covered the tables. Good performers and a fun evening. I stopped going when I relocated to Clairemont so I could cut my daily work commute from 27 miles (one-way) to 7.5 miles one-way. I did visit a few more times until my mom passed in Nov 2011. That was my primary reason for being in the area.

After I left the area, there were some law enforcement busts in El Cajon. Some of the Chaldeans were running drugs and guns with Mexican cartel connections.

In general, the muslims hang out in Clairemont along Balboa Ave. They shop at the Target at Balboa and Genessee. Target hired some muslim women as cashiers. Zero impact on my purchases, but not ideal if you're purchasing alcohol. You have to expect extra traffic at Balboa and Charger Blvd during the day as the muslims head to the mosque. That's a daily occurrence, but more pronounced on Friday afternoons.

The Chaldeans purchased a few church properties in El Cajon along Jamacha Rd and Chase Blvd. The signage on the property is mixed English/Arabic. Mostly busy on Sundays, but some activity during the week.

There was a muzzie honor killing in El Cajon. The wife decided she wanted a divorce. It was accomplished with a hammer to her skull. Attempts were made to try to frame a crazed muslim hater, but the author of the "notes" was clearly not a native English speaker. The husband was convicted.

Sounds like there’s been quite an influx of them in the entire area and that they’ve made an impact on it, a lot of it not good. Glad to see they got that killer but it’s sad he only got 25 years.

With their beliefs and sharia law I imagine it’s affected most everyone living in that area and it’s a shame.

Appreciate the rundown on what’s happening there, it’s been about 30 years since I moved north but I enjoyed going there for our annual tournament, a nice area and golf course.
