A mother lies hospitalized in critical condition after the father of her twin baby girls shot them to death in her arms, and then killed the woman’s dad, according to her family.

Ultimately, Gawain Rushane Wilson turned the weapon on himself and died at the scene, authorities said.

The carnage took place in the Jacksonville, Florida, home of Travis Hiatt, the twin’s grandfather. His daughter, Megan, and her five-month-old girls Hayden and Kayden, had been living him, authorities said, according to local reports.

He was in the U.S. Navy, a First Class Petty Officer, AD1 by rate. While I don't ever recall meeting him, he worked for a time in the same building I did. The home where the killings took place is close to my boys' elementary school.

I don't know anything about what he posted on his Facebook page except to say any service member who posts about killing cops places their career at risk.

The story here in Jax was that he flipped-out over his wife leaving him. After the murders, previous girls he dated came forth with tales of physical abuse.
