Russia's strongman Vladimir Putin has been overseeing the daily airstrikes in Syria from a colossal three-floor war room in Moscow. Long rows of identical desks and computer terminals are crammed into the enormous space, filling up three floors with analysts monitoring activities in the conflict zone. Sitting at a desk on the central level of the first floor, the Russian President can be seen observing every detail. Putin is surrounded by his trusted military advisers, who have been working hard to shore up the Assad regime in Syria.

I once visited an abandoned air defense control room in Wadi Qena, Egypt. It was built by the Soviets. Each operator had a piece of plywood on side of his position. He could see the plotting board but could not see what people on each side were doing.
I think it’s the war room equivalent of iran’s aircraft carrier. russian technology and it’s infrastructure is basically what was left of soviet technology and it’s infrastructure, minus one empire collapse, one economic crash, and a year’s worth of international sanctions.
and soviet technology was mediocre at it’s zenith.
and everyone is in essentially the same pose.
Despite the obsevation that their “electronics is still in the 1960’s,” they somehow manage to make comm and jamming gear that we cannot defeat, manage to hack into classified government Dbs and commercial banks. Maybe we should return our gear to the 60s also since it seems so inferior?

It’s a posed picture,does not mean the equipment is fake. I seriously doubt they would go through the extravagant extreme of creating all this illusion for propaganda.
Down load and blow up the picture. There are more than one with hands on keyboards, and the monitors show different pictures. The resolution is not good enough to see if the key boards are real or not. There is no practical reason for there to be fake keyboards, there’s nothing really super secret about them.
They have shown themselves to have a modern military, which makes the likelihood of this being real.
It was meant as tongue-in-cheek kinda statement,considering what they’re doing to ISIS with their weapons ....

I never thought I would find apologists for old soviet cold warriors at FR. for many, their justified contempt for BHO has completely unraveled them.

I was in a movie house and when that scene came in from left field, I yelled out "Holy Sh!t!". Wife was embarrassed no end.
