Donald Trump must apologize to Muslim Americans and to Jersey City for his untrue, divisive and reprehensible comments perpetuating an old rumor we thought had rightly died.
By repeating – and indeed embellishing – this hateful rumor, Trump once again ratchets up the ugliness in the current political climate.
Thousands and thousands of people in Jersey City did not cheer the destruction of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. Period. End of story. There is no need to continue to "fact check'' his words.
The truth is that Trump's statements are factually, ethically and morally wrong. Those of us who were really there that day and in the days that followed know that Jersey City suffered tremendous loss, mourned and stepped up to help.

Just by my own house, husband and four kids (youngest is a senior in high school), never been so much discussion about current topics and elections...So much hatred on Trump at first...husband and three of the kids (kid #2 and me were all for him from the start). As of last week, all six of us are supporting Trump (two still primarily support others but now also like Trump).
It amazes me that the media, and people, are denying what I saw happen in NJ during 9-11.
For some reason your posts remind me of Grima Wormtongue. Trump’s trying to sound the alarm and light the fire signals of old; you’re complaining that he’s using the wrong kind of matches.

It infuriates me that our elected government officials back down from this stuff. The facts are there. There’s no reason for them to back down. Most Americans support, understand and know this and remember 9-11.
When did it become ok for our side to contribute and support lies?
I will never forget that day even though the media and government and everyone else tried to scrap it from our memory.
I drove my kids to school, then drove my youngest to pre school. Stopped at wawa for coffee for me and my mom, who was watching the news as she always did...heard on the radio about one tower being hit with a plane, then the next, as I sat at a light. Then saw it all once I got home. Saw the towers fall. A few hours later picked youngest up from pre school and filled in the staff on what was going on since they didn’t have a tv. Then talking to brothers and nephews who were heading to NYC (cops and firefighters) to help with the rescue.
We have to fight back against the media and government narrative. We know what happened on 9-11. We lived it. Why it’s been scraped from our history infuriates me.
The next day, I had an appointment with my doctor ( I was ill ) and had heard that his brother was in one of the WTC buildings and dead. I thought about cancelling my appointment. I went and we hugged each other and cried through my appointment. Besides being my doctor, we are old, good friends and what can one say, when such a thing happens?
There are a lot of people, here, who work in NYC, so just about everyone, here, either was related to someone who died that day, or knew at least one of them.

My daughter and I had business in NYC a couple of weeks ago, we had an afternoon free and visited the WTC Memorial. The loss and sorrow in that space is palpable.
You don't see the forest for the trees...he puts a spotlight on the Muslims who celebrated that day, because there are Muslims sneaking into this country and also some demanding asylum. Your cognitive dissonance is driving you to distraction, vis-a-vis your posts.
