Just checked out the Independent, and it is definitely a jet. Apparently two parachutes. This just got pretty interesting.

Oh, nevermind, SU-25 is the Frogfoot. Wrong plane.

Why were the Russian turds flying in Turkey's air-space?
1. Trying to attack ISIS assets/supply lines close to the Turkey/Syria border
2. Trying to provoke a reaction from Turkey
3. Got lost or technical problem
Take your pick.

Fox reporting the Russians are saying it’s a Russian jet — but does that mean Russian built or operated, or both?

A bit early to know for sure.

Who let them in? Assad. Nobody else is there on any legal basis, including us. Turkey flies air raids into Syria daily.

In any case, the Turks knew whoever it was, it was someone bombing jihadis. That’s the only thing anyone is doing in the air there.

I meant, who let them into NATO. I agree with your point completely.

Well, they weren’t there bombing Turkey. Probably a pilot strayed across.
Turkey on the other hand attacks Syria daily with no UN authorization. And they are flying is to help overthrow Assad.

Were the warnings issued by same plane that shot it down? Was there a shoot-down order given before any attempt to escort away?

Initial guess.. Got lost. Second guess.. Threatening Turkey’s caliph. Third guess.. Laughing at nato, but a trap to declare hostile retaliation.

Russia has been the greatest providers of ISIS fighters, some of which are working for the KGB.

Saying Russia or that any party in there is the good guy is a joke.

But just like liberals were Vichy with the Soviets, the right in America has pu$$ies going Vichy for Putin for sure.

You and I agree. Erdogan is sending supplies to ISIS. Buying ISIS stolen oil, sending millions of “refugees” into Greece, etc.

Why is this loose cannon in NATO?

Lame. It’s very well established that the Gulf States, us, the Saudis and the Turks are supplying ISIS.

Both Bushes got it. They also got a Congressional resolution.
I know we are in a post Constitutional world now, but there is not a single legal underpinning for our covert war in Syria, and also wasn’t one in Libya. Only the whim of Obama.

Does it not bother you that Obama ignores every legality of armed conflict that every other president has respected?

Somehow, I must’ve missed Russia’s UN authorization.

I think we have some T-bolts over there. Maybe they were cruising for Warthogs and found Falcons instead.

Well Sparky, they are there at the invitation of the legitimate government. The UN recognizes them still.

It crashed several miles into Syria. But we were discussing who has legal authority to be operating inside Syria. The Turks do it every day. And not just straying across, but coming deliberately to drop bombs.
Those Erdogan planes are gonna be fair game now for any MiG or S300. And completely legal game too.

The sad thing is that this puts US crews at increased risk when the Russians start shooting at Turks.
