Columbus, Ohio (CNN)Donald Trump said Monday that he witnessed people jumping out of the Twin Towers on 9/11 from the view in his apartment.
"Many people jumped and I witnessed it, I watched that. I have a view -- a view in my apartment that was specifically aimed at the World Trade Center," Trump said Monday during a rally in Columbus, Ohio.
"And I watched those people jump and I watched the second plane hit ... I saw the second plane hit the building and I said, 'Wow that's unbelievable,'" Trump continued.
At least 200 people are believed to have jumped from the Twin Towers after planes struck the towers in an attack that claimed more than 2,600 lives.
The Republican presidential contender lives in Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan, more than four miles away from where the World Trade Center towers once stood. Trump has lived in the 5th Avenue tower since before the attacks, according to media reports pre-dating 9/11.
The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment asking how Trump witnessed people jumping out of the Twin Towers from more than four miles away.
Trump on Monday also dug into his claim that Muslims in New Jersey celebrated the terrorist attacks on 9/11, a claim that has been widely debunked by multiple fact-checkers.

Oh for crying out loud..really CNN? I SAW people jump to and I’m in fricking Michigan? The fact that Trump lives near the WTC and saw people jump could mean anything. He saw them on TV. He saw the explosion from his window and then saw people jumping on TV. Give me a break.
Embroidering is a nicer word for it.
What’s CNN’s problem. There were a ton of photos and videos shown on that day, that the enemedia has since clammed up on from view. So, he witnessed it on TV reports at the time.
Plus, no doubt that he’d have decent binoculars handy near apt windows, so witnessing by eye of folks having to jump would be easily viewable from 4 miles.
Anybody know if you can see something like that from four miles? My friends from Rock Plaza where i worked couldn’t see it.

What do you want? Home movies he made? Proof his apartment or wherever couldn’t see it when it happened?

Of course he is lying if he says he saw them jumping from his window. But he’ll make it clear that is not what he said.

I’ve spent time in a “high-rise” in downtown Detroit on The River; noting/watching the the iron/bauxite freighters passing through.
Maybe us “normal, fly-over folks” are more familiar with...

Hundreds of people in New Jersey also say it happened elsewhere in New Jersey too.
If we know about this story in WAPO why is Fox still pushing this crap onto Trump. That he is doubling down with lies?

He might have had a telescope. He would have certainly aimed it at the WTC when he saw them burning.
I saw at least two men jump and I remember one was holding his briefcase.
In my mind, there isn’t a Muslim on this planet that does not have some sort of sympathy to that religion’s zealot terrorists. In word, spirit or deed. Somehow.
You seem to be pretty facile at embroidery yourself, since you were nowhere near Donald Trump on 9/11.
He spends a lot of time clarifying what he said. He should shut the F up and think a little before spouting out every thought that enters his mind. Good grief.
