Turkey’s shooting down of a Russian jet fighter is a “critical moment†for the U.S. and its allies to stand up to Moscow, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said Tuesday.
Hours after the Kremlin condemned Turkey’s decision to shoot down the warplane for entering its airspace, Rubio warned against letting Russia get the upper hand.
“It's important for us to be very clear that we will respond and defend Turkey if they come under assault from the Russians. Otherwise the entire NATO alliance comes into question,†Rubio, who is running for president, said on Fox News.

You can quit that line of thinking...I do not support the ouster of Assad. That is another failed Clinton policy when she was sec/state. In fact the entire mess was a debacle. I don't see Obama's hand in that except for tacit support and now that it's been done, he has to double down on it. But IMO, that policy was created by his minions in the WH, many who are Muslim or are well known for this crap. Like his closest advisor who is Iranian.

I guess he didn’t get the memo that NATO basically asked Turkey “why didn’t you just escort the Russian jet out of your territory?” Does not sound like NATO is an eager to start a war with Russia as Marco is.
Qualified candidates left are Cruz and Trump.

BTW....There is no question that Assad is a bad dude...so was his daddy. Over the decades, (and I have been around for a while) Various US envoys have tried to reason with both of them, tried to get him to act responsibly, but all efforts failed, over and over..
His ouster would be a great thing if, his country could sort out their various tribal and sectarian issues, but they can’t and that is why we have a civil war there now.
Clinton’s state department tried to force him out, thinking that his ouster would bring reformation and peace, but it’s obvious to me at least that this will never occur in my lifetime. What happened in Egypt would happen in Syria but it would result in total collapse. Where Egypt managed after some effort to regain control.
This won’t occur in Syria until they are ready to do so.
Or the owner of the hand in his back paid for him to say that.
btw, I wonder what Barack was doing the morning of 9/11/2001? Everybody remembers that time in their life. Be interesting to hear what his story sounds like.
