When is someone going to tell these people NO, but hell NO?

If they want the statue removed and/or replaced let them follow the proper procedures through the proper channels for the right reasons. Where are the Alumni and why are they turning into lapdogs for the Left. Surely someone among them is a conservative who would oppose them.

This political correctness has got to stop. The acts of this group of leftist malcontents is a brazen attempt to destroy the heritage, legacy, and the honor of past generations of Americans. Their ex-post mentally and judgment of historical figures based on their their new definition of rape, incest, or whatever must stop.

Leftist, socialists, and tyrants seem have this big thing about statues. In every failed society throughout the world, statues are tools to propagandize the working grunts. They must constantly remind them only governments can give them their rights, not GOD, as our founding fathers believed. And in America we erect statues for honor, not propaganda purposes.

Seen any statues honoring the Clintons, the Obamas, the Carters, and others of like mind lately? If the leftists socialists have their way, you will soon. So we need to stop this now before they can rewrite history and re-educate our children.

Hitler-era fascist Brownshirts.

I'm getting tired of saying it, but here I go again. Hitler was not a Fascist. He was a Nazi, a candidate of the German Workers National Socialist Party. Benito Mussolini was a Fascist. Granted, choosing between the two was about like choosing between two rattlesnakes. Nevertheless, Hitler and Mussolini had different ideas. If you don't understand your enemy's ideas, it's difficult to fight him.

Turning "fascist" into a cussword drains if of meaning, and makes it impossible to label ideas as Fascist when we encounter them today.

Why is this important? Because since the days of Alexander Hamilton, Fascism has been the endemic disease of the American economy. The New Deal's National Industrial Recovery Act was almost pure Mussolini-style Fascism. The "American System" of Henry Clay and Abraham Lincoln was an pre-Mussolini version of Fascism.

It may be a lost cause, but I think it's important to retain the meaning of words. As philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein wrote, "the limits of my language are the limits of my world." If you don't have words to describe what's wrong with something, you can't even think about it, let alone oppose it rationally. Thus the term Islamo-fascism may indicate you don't like Islam, but simply turning it into a third rattlesnake doesn't help you oppose it. Islam has little or nothing in common with Fascism, and understanding that difference is essential to opposing Islam effectively.

In College Station, home of Texas A&M, they have a different slogan: Make Austin Normal. ;-)
