IIRC, the SS is in charge of body security and the immediate area around the president so no bombs etc. But disrupters, hecklers, demonstrators no. The clintons were good at screening people out of the building. When they got heckled it was rare. People had to sneak in as dems. So they hire local cops or security for “crowd control” and to keep dissent out. Like Reagan said, I paid for the Mike and I’m going to talk. But the ss does not guarantee that, just security. IIRC.
