Trump Says Group of Black Clergy Was Likely Pressured Out of Endorsing Him by Black Lives Matter

NEW YORK (AP) - Donald Trump says he thinks a group of black pastors meeting with him Monday had planned to endorse him for president but were pressured out of it because he "believes all lives matter."

"Probably some of the Black Lives Matter folks called them up and said, 'Oh, you shouldn't be meeting with Trump because he believes all lives matter,'" Trump said Monday on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," referring to the movement protesting against police brutality and the killing of unarmed African-Americans.

Trump predicted some of the 100 black evangelical leaders would endorse him after the meeting, nonetheless.

Many of the religious leaders invited to the meet-and-greet with Trump were surprised that the gathering was being advertised by his Republican presidential campaign as an endorsement. After they objected, the Trump campaign decided to keep the meeting private and quietly canceled a press conference afterward meant to announce their support.

"It's a miscommunication," said Darrell Scott, the senior pastor of New Spirit Revival Center in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, who helped to organize the meeting scheduled for Monday afternoon in New York - one of several Trump has convened in recent months with black religious leaders.

Trump's campaign had issued a press release last week that read: "Mr. Trump will be joined by a coalition of 100 African-American evangelical pastors and religious leaders who will endorse the GOP front-runner after a private meeting at Trump Tower."......

The black pastors who were going to endorse Trump were viciously attacked and had to back down because Democrats don't allow blacks to leave their plantation. They consider them to be their electoral slaves, and call them "race traitors" if they attempt to leave.

Here is a quote from one of those pastors:

http://www.politico.com/story/2015/11/donald-trump-black-clergy-216245

Scott said that the criticism he and other black pastors have faced from for dealing with Trump has been withering.

"We've been called Uncle Toms, sellouts, coons … We have preachers calling us 'prostitutes on a pole,'" he lamented, referring to an epithet leveled by one Baltimore minister. "If Donald Trump said that, the entire nation would be in an uproar."

Just like Sharpton and Jackson, most Black ministers are Pay for Play. I am sure they are using this to their advantage to try to extort “street money” for their endorsement of the rich white guy.

Donald isn’t so stupid to believe these ministers can turn out votes. Most blacks don’t turn out even for a black candidate.

If two whites are running they will vote for the Democrat since the Dems may not get them jobs but they will continue to give them welfare and food stamps.

I don’t even think Herman Cain could have gotten 20% of the Black vote.

If the white churches were as political as the black ones are they would have their tax status challenged

No doubt pressure from the left and some say even from RINOs.

Most blacks don't turn out even for a black candidate.

All you need are the people who massage the machines into looking like they turned out.

If they backed down and withered under pressure, then they are a bunch of cowards.

Donald’s mistake was making a big announcement. Or, maybe he knew this would be the likely outcome, but his electoral needs are still being served because of how close he got to making it happen. Some of these ministers will be issuing strongly worded apologies in cloaked privacy. They see Donald, and they see dollar bills coming into their parishes.
They’ll be apologizing all the way to the bank about ‘this terrible misunderstanding of words taken out of context.”

I find that unlikely, since this reasoning “probably they were convinced not to endorse me by BLM” to be unconvincing, couldn’t he simply ASK the pastors and have a solid reason why (Unless he was mischaracterizing their meeting, or outright lying..)?

If 100 or more black pastors had contacted the campaign and gave a behind the scenes endorsement he should simply have asked them to come out individually. The idea that Trump has a solid long standing personal relationship with a huge number of these black religious leaders is pretty unconvincing on its face I agree.

I have given up on Blacks recognizing that for Abe Lincoln on its been GOP backing LBJ while Dixiecrats didn’t. Reagan declaring MLK a holiday.

Segregationists, KKK Sen. Byrd, George Wallace, Clinton’s mentor Fulbright, Forbus etc. standing in their way not the Republicans.

Blacks got nothing but broken families and generational welfare from Democrats. Just about every wave of immigrants have past them by economically.

Blacks put all their eggs in the Democrat basket, and what have the Dems done for them lately.

Can you give us an example of Trump having ever done that?

Gope calls him a liar, but its the Gope who got us to return the house and senate to Gop control with lies that they would stop Obama ruining the country and runaway spending.

Trump on the otherhand seems brutally honest about his views.

Cruz and Trump and to a lesser extent Paul are the only ones not so stinking PC that they say nothing.

Jesse Jackson offered international money and a threat.

Trump offered nothing as he should.

The “Priests” sold out.

God will judge them now.
