San Bernardino shooting suspect traveled to Saudi Arabia, was married
LA Times ^ | Dec 2 2015 | LA Times

As the holiday gathering got underway Wednesday morning, Syed Farook joined dozens of his colleagues from San Bernardino County’s Public Health Department. Farook seemed quiet during the early hours of the event, then vanished just as a group photo was about to be taken.

Shorty afterward, gunfire erupted at the Inland Regional Center where the employees filled a conference room. Within hours, law enforcement sources identified a man named Syed Farook as a suspect in the massacre and said he was shot to death in a gun battle with officers.

Police officials released little information about the suspects, including where they worked. And the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the case was ongoing, did not provide any details about the suspect other than his name.

Co-workers told The Times that they were shocked to hear Farook’s name linked to the shooting. Two health department employees who were in the bathroom when the bullets began to fly said Farook was quiet and polite, with no obvious grudges.

They said Farook had traveled to Saudi Arabia and returned with a new wife he met online.

Going to Saudi Arabia and coming back with a wife and child is straight up creepy.

Something really off here folks, something REALLY off.

“Police officials released little information about the suspects, including where they worked.”

At the presser the Chief positively confirmed the killer was a county employee, and had been for 5 years. Also confirmed his year of birth as 1987. Also confirmed he was US born.

I read on here all the time about real Americans that have problems getting their foreign husbands/wives into the country. How is it that a naturalized Muslim can go to Saudi Arabia, marry a Muslim, and just waltz her right into the country?!?

According to post #4 he was born here. I thought he was naturalized but my question stands. Why can a Muslim go to Saudi Arabia of all places, marry another Muslim and waltz her in?!?

Arranged marriage is common with NRIs, and possibly with NRPs. This doesn’t strike me odd at all.

He’s simply a normal, devout Muslim. There is nothing he did that is inconsistent with the text and tenets of the religion. The red flag to look for is who is a devout Muslim, does all the prayers, etc. That is someone who is likely to commit mass murder down the road.

The fact that the shooters were Muslim is all the proof you need that they were terrorists. Any person who professes a belief in Islam or carries around Islamic paraphenalia NEEDS to be detained ASAP.

OK, anybody here wanna whine about the WW2 internment of Japanese-, German-, and Italian-Americans?

BTW, my father got sh!t in WW2 - and frequent visits from the Gummn’t in the company he owned - because it was a war goods supplier. Why? His German surname.

The connection? His paternal grandfather was a German-born immigrant. Grandpa was born in 1832, came to the USA before age 20, and fought in the Civil War.

The prevailing theory over at the funny farm is that this was just a case of WORKPLACE VIOLENCE.

I kid you not, the names of the players mean nothing, just a disgruntled worker and, unspoken. but a likely progression of dummie logic, someone must have offended him.

Germans have long been the largest ethnic group in America and probably a major reason why America is great.

Don’t diss our good ally in fighting terrorism Saudi Arabia, the home of $$$$$ to sustain the dying economies of the Western nations.

Because Russia doesn’t have the Saudis as an ally, they can bomb all the terrorists in Syria, including the ones backed by the Saudis.

The United States can’t because they are the ‘moderates’.
