Have you recently thought your restaurant checks seem a little higher than you expected? Some of us throw down our cards without so much as a second glance, expecting to have only been charged for what we consumed, but you may want to start looking a little more closely.
By now most people have heard that many popular restaurants in New York City have abolished tipping, and raised their menu prices by up to 40 percent, which now gives them the ability to pay everyone on staff more and provide full-time health coverage.
Some restaurants tried a different tactic, including Brooklyn pizzeria Franny's. They announced that checks would soon include a line item that reads "3% surcharge for Obamacare," then quickly reversed that decision after complaints. Now they will raise all their prices, despite their concerns this means "putting $22 pizza on the menu."
A manager at Franny's compared the line-item to a fuel surcharge. When gas prices go up, delivery companies will often charge their clients a percentage of their order to offset the extra expenditure. Citing Obamacare's inflated health-insurance premiums and requirement that eateries like Franny's insure their full-time staff, restaurants have asked their guests to pay.

I was told by Obama, on multiple occasions that this would NOT impact businesses or their costs.
We would all save $2500 a year, and our premiums would drop, and all of our medical issues would be covered!
I think these businesses are OBVIOUSLY just trying to gouge their customers! Damn thieving businesses! It’s like they think they should make a profit or something, ON TOP OF providing living wages, paid vacation, paid health care, and paid maternity leave...the gall of those greedy, filthy rich, mom & pop shops!!

If I ever see this as a line item charge, I’m walking out of the restaurant and telling them why I will never return.
I have enough challenge paying my own Obama premiums and deductables...I’m not going to blatantly pay for my waiter’s healthcare.
Better find a way to do it that is not obvious...and, if the price of the food goes up noticeably...I’m still gone.

Who did they vote for, not just for president but for the House and Senate? If you voted Dem, quit your whining. You got what you wanted....but someone else got the FREE STUFF!
It turns out that “fundamental transformation” does not mean unicorns and rainbows.
why? it’s cheaper. obama said so.
So, if the owner of the restaurant is honest with you, you will punish him or her.
Free stuff aint cheap.

Only that he would radically change America. I have always understood this to mean destroy.
Make it a line item on the receipt, then kick the customer in the shin and say “that’s from your buddy Obama!” so there’s no mistaking who’s responsible.
You are paying one way or another. The customer always pays. Read a book.
I processed many invoices since the 1973 oil problem. There were line items on invoices that clearly stated a ‘fuel surcharge’.
ANY customer needs to know the cost of Obamacare for the services & goods they are using.
