Hard to say. How many and how powerful were the guns used to bring down the two Muslim terrorists in San Bernardino?
What if it is just you standing in defense of your family?
Aim small, miss small.
The government is powerless to defend our families.
Our government has allowed the country to be overrun by millions of enemy infiltrators. The barbarians are inside the gate, waiting in terror cells to be activated.
I say that you can never have too many...
My opinion is if those two come at you with two AR15s you’d need an AR15 and you’d have to be the one to shoot first. Or be very fast and accurate with a pistol.
Now, if they shoot and miss and you’ve got a shotgun and you’re a close enough range, both could be brought down pretty easily.
And activated they will be. 0bozo will call for calm and more gun laws.
You need at least what the police have.
That’s what they need to take out the bad guys.
The bad guys don’t typically prey on cops.
They prey on the good guys.
So unless you have a cop by your side 24/7, you need what they have.
Our answer should always be:
As many and as big as I damn well want.
I’m an American. And it’s my Right.
Pretty much period.
I’m am Constitutionally guaranteed the right to own any small arm currently in use the the United States military.

A man with courage and a .22 stands ready better than anyone with an arsenal and no fortitude to use it in defense of self and/or family.
I’ve got a .22 semi automatic rifle with two 25 round clips snapped together. When one runs out I simply turn it over and shoot the 25 rounds. If 50 rounds won’t protect me I’d say I’m in trouble.
Some will say a .22 doesn’t have stopping power. Any shot to the head is a stopper.
I also have a single action revolver with a 6 inch barrel. That’s to carry around with me.
I’ve long felt that the only truly reasonable gun control is to restrict the firing of automatic weapons inside city limits except in defense or at an established range. Automatic weapons with suppressors would be an exception, of course.

Jim, I think 10 cracks from my 22LR Sig would have sent them on the run.
At a minimum, it could have provided cover to get the civilians out.
At minimum a pistol, a rifle and a shotgun.
Hollow points for the pistol.
Slugs and buckshot for the shotgun.
Reports said they were wearing body armor. Any idea of the type?
.308 or 12 gauge slug would have been useful. I think Hickok45 could have been effective with any of his pistols, especially his .44 revolver that he shoots so well.

Who knows? I asked as gunfriend if he had been packing his 9mm at the time, would he had taken a shot at two shielded shooters with semi auto.auto AR’s? His response was that he would have and probably have brought them down. A superman without portfolio. Most likely he would have ended up as a dead victim who tried.
