What these idiots don’t seem to understand is islam is totally against every other religion. We let them in because of freedom of religion then they take over and kill everyone who doesn’t convert to their religion.

I guess I’d agree with him if I considered Islam a religion. What he doesn’t seem to understand is that it’s a death cult. By its own tenets, it can’t coexist with any religion, or even absence of religion, on Earth. Islam means SUBMIT. Read the Koran, Mr. Cheney.

I’m not cutting Cheney any slack, because he should know better. But I think a lot of people think we can get along with Islam because they are projecting a Christian theory of state-church relations onto the Islamic projector screen, and it is a serious error. Islam is unable to distinguish between the civil authority and the religious authority. It is all one thing to them, what is sometimes called a “sacral society.”
Whereas Christianity and the cultures it has shaped have been able to make that distinction. It is rooted in the teachings of Jesus Himself. Render unto God that which is God’s and unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s.
So it is that far too many Christians, who naturally and easily separate the two spheres of authority, when they look at Islam, falsely imagine the same is true of Islam, that they have within them the same potential to reform and live peaceably in a religiously pluralistic society under a shared but distinct civil authority.
It is an illusion. Islam does not have the raw materials necessary for such a reform. Islam is not grounded in a divine, self-sacrificing love for both God and each other. Islam, even in it’s name, is about power. It is the manifestation of belief in an Arabic master race, entitled to rule the world. There is no potential for peaceful coexistence.
So Mr. Cheney needs to stop projecting Christian values onto a totalitarian system that will never be compatible with a constitutional system of individual liberty. Our religious freedom is not a suicide pact that requires us to be blind to those “religions” that are in fact designed to subvert our freedoms and destroy our lives.
