In most cases when the food stamps run out, they have to find another way to get money for their 40s and newports.

What’s wrong with this picture?

Everything.....

I glanced at a state that requires people to work for their food stamps but I couldn’t take time to read it. Might still be out there. But apparently it’s working.

There are so many community jobs these people should be doing.....and they should pay far ‘less’ then minimum wage... but require they work for what they get. Including the welfare mom’s with all the kids. ...who should be required to “child care share” as they go out and work their assigned days.

There’s so many “other” means of getting these criminals off the system but the will is not there to do so. Let them sink or swim...the rest of us that work have to!!!

It ‘all’ is of equal revulsion IMO. .......

Ya know I hit a very difficult time in my life many years ago....I put all my furniture in the front yard ,room by room, in order to generate income while I looked for work.... Which kept me going. Even after that I needed to replace it all... so I learned how to stretch a penny as well as do without far more than I thought possible..and in fact then most people would go....I was determined to make it and did.

At one time I had five jobs.....it got confusing when I would get home from one job wondering where I worked that night! Ha!...all I did was work and sleep for over a year. But I did it!.....

When pay day I would treat myself to a dollar cluster of Milky Way miniatures....and I thought this was grand! No movies, no TV no computer....( I used the one at the Employment Office to job search etc.)...nothing other then getting on my feet. I read books that I’d accumulated, and never got to previously, for entertainment, and became a shopper at the thrift stores for anything I ‘needed’.

There are things you can only learn about life by going through them.....as difficult as it was then I found myself soooo challenged to make it work, somehow, someway. And with God’s help He would make that possible....and He did!

I would not trade that experience for anything....to see God meet my needs along the way at the most unexpected times, to learn to really depend and rely on Him when I couldn’t see the step ahead in sight. ..which stretched my faith. And to learn that sometimes God does help those who cannot help themselves.

My car was hit, and though nobody was hurt, what would I do since it was totaled? I had by then saved a couple thousand but did not want to use that....a loan would just add debt...But when I had been to a dealer to look for a car I told him no bells and whistles...just something to get to work and back. He took me to the side of his building and showed me two cars....I chose one in my price range. ..but wanted to think about it further...he invited me to take it hoe for the weekend.???

I should have recognized something was up then...but under duress you don’t think like that. The following mMonday the sales woman met me at the door and asked if I decided to take the car....I said yes but that I still wasn’t sure which direction to go to purchase it, using saings or taking a loan, and wanted to hear further what the dealer would set as a final price.

When I walked in his office I explained that to him at which he said “I’m going to tell you how your’e going to do this, I’m giving you this car!”..at which he quickly moved papers to the guy who writes things up..while I sat there in shock until reality set in. ...then a few tears fell as he explained he’s a Christian and he and God determine which cars he’s going to give away. HE said it would have been a different story had you selected a different car.

I drove home that day with a beautiful car that the company had used as a company car...so it had all the paperwork of repairs. Still in shock I drove home in wonder and awe of God who arranged this....and I still am!

My apology if my question seemed unkind. There are so many of my family who are simply irresponsible. Sorry for your troubles.

WBill Jr wants a hand-held Nintendo so bad that he can taste it. Or, an IPad/Iphone/tablet device of some sort.

As a teacher, I have seen enough of those things to hate them with a passion. Boys especially get hooked on them like they were crack. They slide them out of their pockets at every opportunity and let me tell you, once they are playing with them, they do not care about anything else. Pretty soon their brains are so hooked on them that if you pull them off, all they want to do is fall asleep (because they played with the damn things all night.) I hate them so much.
