If the US as a whole apologizes for slavery, will Blacks shut up about it?
My money is on NO.
Jeff, keep your f*ckin’ apology to yourself.
My forebears never owned slaves and I don’t keep them.
I don’t owe any one an undeserved apology for something for which I wasn’t responsible.
Its race-baiting, pure and simple. For me, there is no burden of white guilt to carry and atone for our country’s past.
‘WTF?
No one should be apologizing for anything. This country shed blood and gave lives and that issue was resolved ( like it or don’t ) during one of the bloodiest wars in history.
For many people their families were not yet in the US, why should they apologize?
These little snot nosed, commie brats do not know anything except rabble rouse and trash whatever you want. They think they are ‘reliving ‘the civil rights era. They are not. They are as selfish,self-centered, entitled little bullies who have never been told NO.
They’ll demand reparations, affirmative action and the whole kit and kaboodle.
Oh wait - they have received that for decades in spades and they’re still not happy.
Once you apologize to them, you’ll never hear the end of it.
I’m still waiting on my reparations from Italy for throwing Christians to the lions, and other persecutions.
I thought the Civil War was America’s apology for slavery, paid for with blood, sweat and tears?
Silly me. Apparently, its not enough for the race merchants and BLM terrorists of our present.
No atonement will ever be enough for them.
The fallacy here is thinking that the damage from slavery is everlasting. African Americans are far from slaves and any deep problems they have are only due to a lack of effort or a lack of respect for their own race and other races in America.
Exactly. Like the author said slavery did not start with the European colonization of the American Continent.
Talk to England and the Mohammedans that sold blacks to England to ship to America.
Now we are being terrorized in this country for the actions of people who have been dead for over 150 years ago. What is wrong with this nation?
Slavery is as old as mankind.
How far back do we go to apologize for it?
In case any one needs to reminded, its a long list.
And all of the perpetrators and victims are long dead and gone.
There is not one person alive in the U.S. that needs to apologize for slavery, none of us were even alive during that era. Get over it and move on, stop the whining.
This moronic line again?
Never owned slaves.
Never plan to.

Hello:
13th Amendment that abolished slavery
13th Amendment that abolished slavery
Hello, Hello
Yeah that said sorry.
No Pandering Needed.
Yup. Most Americans alive today have nothing to do with slavery.
How does forcing them to apologize for it advance racial reconciliation and healing in America?
It doesn’t. And the whole thing is an affront to the intelligence and decency.
After the whole continent of Africa and the mudslimes apologize and stop their current enslavement practices, then, maybe I’d consider it...
I don’t really care for this concept of people apologizing for things other people did hundreds of god da** years ago. How about Governor Markell apologizes for hiking taxes instead? That hurt the Black residents of his state, none of whom are slaves except to the democrat party.
Most?
My forebears fought to free them...
They will get no apology from me. My family has paid the debt.
Now, if the black community wants to heal from those sins...they need to forgive them and stop making them an “everlasting sin” on a Nation needing to move forward.
