Imagine the caliber, the knowledge and the skill of the government employees who will be appraising the guns and setting the value.

Gang bangers and terrorists will be lined up around the block to give their guns away for a few dollars.

I saw Belgian Brownings going for $1295 at a nearby gun show.
I’d take $2500 for the ‘”36 goose gun I own.

"If we can get one gun off the street, if we can save one life, then we have to take action" If you take one gun off the street, you don't save one life.
The vast majority of guns are not used to murder people. In fact, if one makes the ridiculous assumption that all guns are equally likely to be used in a murder, with 11,000 murders each year spread over 300,000,000 guns, it would be necessary to take over 27,000 guns off the street to save one life.

They need to start with a very high bid, to get attention, and all.

It would be cool if they held a gun buy back just outside a gun show. LOL

The second amendment is a civil right.
How much to sell first amendment redress of grievances rights?
Jury Trial in criminal cases?
Quartering Act rights?

Look for gun sales to rise by 25% or a close proximity thereof.Remember Premier Obama's Cash for Clunkers program?
They pulled millions of used cars out of the market so the prices on the remaining supply went up.
The same thing would happen with this addle-brained scheme.
Gun sales will go up and prices will go up too.
The feds will be setting a new benchmark value at 125% of the old value.
Every time the government injects money into a program prices go up.
It happened with Cash For Clunkers, it happened with Medicare and Obamacare, and it happened with easy money for college loans.
Lordy! I hope they don't have an ammo buy-back!

To: Eric in the Ozarks
Like I said earlier, for the right price, I could be persuaded to go find some for them.
