Conservative icon said he's 'the only one who will fight'

Donald Trump sent out an email to his supporters Tuesday night with a link to WND's scoop in which conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly praised the Republican presidential frontrunner as "the last hope for America."

In the email from his campaign, Trump wrote: "I wanted to share the article below written by highly respected conservative, Phyllis Schlafly. Phyllis' support is a testament to my message to Make America Great Again and your enthusiasm to ensure our country is better than it has ever been before.

"Phyllis stated that I am 'the only one who will fight' and it's true. I will fight harder than anyone. This country has been so great to me and I want to do something really special in return. We are going to rebuild the American Dream and make it bigger and better and stronger than ever before for each and every one of you."

So how many people click on the links in a Trump email?

A few hours after it was sent, the original news story was receiving more than 3,000 clicks per hour from the campaign announcement.

In Schlafly's interview, first published Sunday night, she harshly criticized the Republican Congress for passing the $1.1 trillion omnibus spending bill last week.

"I think the people are going to react by electing Donald Trump," she offered. "It sounds like Donald Trump is the only one who has any fight in him. He will fight for the issues that we really care about and are very hot at the present time, such as the immigration issue. I don't see anyone else who's eager to fight."

For a second time in as many issues, Phyllis Schlafly has revealed herself to be out of touch.

Worse, she betrays a puerile inclination to seek after a political Messiah. She believes that voting in the right politicians will right the Republic as it careens toward the cliff. She has stated in her explanation for her endorsement a perfectly fatuous proposition:

There is no one who has actually fought for conservative issues including immigration as hard as Ted Cruz and he did so while Donald Trump was cutting corrupt deals with politicians to advance his crony capitalist empire. Her assertion is preposterous.

In abandoning the cause of constitutional reform offered by the article 5 movement and by this endorsement, Phyllis Schlafly has demonstrated a distressing inclination to be seduced by personality over principle.

Perhaps she is just one more pissed off American, who wants to see the establishment turds gets their ball sacks crushed between two large bricks - and see the media castrated just for the fun of it.

Or, maybe she’s just getting senile.

No matter ... I’ll take Trump or Cruz - but Trump is top on my list.

Look at it this way ... We can either watch Trump figuratively lynch the establishment, or we can go about the truly bloody business ourselves.

Donald led the Tea Party movement to a great victory in 2010. I remember him being at the Washington Tea Party march where hundreds of thousands gathered. What? He wasn't there? Well I remember him charging through the jungles of Vietnam killing those commie bastards and freeing the oppressed. What? He wasn't there? The Roe vs Wade fight? Wasn't there? Going against Hillary in 2008. Wasn't there? Fighting that assault weapons ban. Wasn't there? Kelo vs. New London eminent domain case. Wasn't there?

I guess he's fighting like hell to keep from fighting. Go Trump.
