I support the Constitution and Cruz.
My son was born 42years ago in an American hospital in Germany. I am a natural born citizen, my husband was a natural born citizen, my son was born a German citizen. My husband had to file papers with the State Department to insure my son’s American citizenship and he retained his German citizenship also until he was 18.
You and I disagree on the term natural born citizen. If this country had any sense Obama would have never been eligible to be President. He at least was born in the US. To now stretch that to Cruz, legitimizes Obama and opens the door even wider to throwing out our Constitution.
I went to see Cruz last week in Oklahoma City. One of the things I was given by the campaign is a pocket copy of the Constitution.... with Ted’s picture on the front. It also contained the declaration of independence and some interesting historical facts.
Well, that must have been done, because there is record that Senator Cruz had DUEL citizenship.
And .. he has renounced his Canadian citizenship.
To claim he’s not a “natural born citizen” is stupid.
And .. to claim that if we elected Cruz it would legitimize Obama’s shady and elusive birth records .. is just plain ignorance.
You’re trying to sell a bill of goods .. because you hope it will take a major REPUBLICAN candidate off the stage. Sorry, not buying it at all.

Being on “leave of absence” seems to be an issue for everybody. I’ve been on a leave of absence, and you basically SIGN OUT of the company. Contrary to what you say, YOU ARE NO LONGER AN EMPLOYEE.
The only advantage to doing an LOA is the possibility of returning to work. But, an LOA is NOT A GUARANTEE OF CONTINUED EMPLOYMENT.
People don’t understand how an LOA works .. so they’re willing to try to make a connection that no longer exists.

My point was that for all of the big talk from Cruz people that he will bring back constitutional government, blah blah blah, they all fail to realize that he has literally zero clout in congress as it is, and will find himself completely rudderless as president, and will have to compromise all over the place in order to get the smallest thing done.
And that is WITH a GOP controlled congress. Like what is going to do, go to congress and debate them on the House floor like this os the House of Commons?
Now past that, which is the only reason we actually get as to why we must support him, his supporters have precious little as to why he is a better choice.
Your original reply is what we have been telling Cruz people for weeks. So yes it did prove my point.

At this point it really doesn’t matter does it? This country has thrown out the rule of law, we run after whoever has the best con game. We elected a president who was not eligible and 7 years later, we see what divided loyalties have brought us. Now because Cruz and Rubio are white conservative republicans we’re running down the rabbit hole to do it again.
We don’t deserve the country we have. We claim we want this country to go back to following the constitution but we want to be able to parse laws and in Rubio’s case, misinterpret the 14th amendment so we can have our “rock stars.” The very fact that Cruz had dual citizenship should be a wake up call.
The very fact that we have to find interpretations of law to qualify them should be a major flag. I am not trying to sell a bill of goods. You vote for whoever you want to, secure in your belief that whether or not it is right, it is legal by your standards.
By the way, abortion is also legal. Oh, and gay marriage. See, just another interpretation of the laws.

And remember this .. Reagan didn’t have any clout in Congress either .. and his 8 years in office gave us over 25 years of prosperity.
And, I don’t agree that Cruz would have to compromise all over the place to get anything done .. WHO SAYS ..?? Cruz has never done that .. and that’s the main issue against him, according to the media.
Here’s a suggestion .. just listen to what Cruz says and then watch what he does. Stop listening to the media WHO HATE HIM AND WANT HIM OUT OF OFFICE. Don’t fall for it.
And .. who’s to say that the next election will not get rid of a lot of trouble makers in the Congress .. a lot of them are up for re-election; and the public is mad at their performance. You don’t want to tick off the electorate when they think you’re messing up.

He had an effective working majority thanks to the conservative Democrats.
With a Senate of both GOPers and Dems that hates him, and no conservative Democrats within 7 light years of Congress, Cruz will have no real caucus to deal with, unfortunately.
Instead of blaming America .. why don’t you consider that the USA has a separate agreement with Germany .. and it could be quite different from the agreement with Canada.
Since we destroyed Germany in WWII; I suspect we had a lot of agreements regarding citizenship and marriage, etc.
However, in Canada, they have pretty much been on the side of the USA. That doesn’t mean our laws have changed .. maybe the laws of Canada have changed ..??
You just seem too eager to blame America for everything .. and Cruz for everything else.
I too have been on a LOA. My ability to return to my position was SECURE until, and not until, I said I would not be returning. She is not some low skilled Walmart greeter, she is ‘skilled’ upper management at Goldman Sachs with influence. You are kidding yourself if you don’t think GS would bring her back if she desired so. .
The laws of other counties, Germany, Canada, Timbuktoo, have nothing to do with our country, our constitution. Their particular laws have nothing to do with making our citizens native, natural born or naturalized.
And yes, this country is at fault. We have allowed this state of affairs.
Well, if we have ALLOWED THESE STATE OF AFFAIRS .. then maybe you need to stop voting for those people.
