Virginia GOP'ers returned fire over the state Democrat Attorney General Mark Herring's move to halt recognition of concealed carry permits from 25 different states.
Our General Assembly has already identified who can and cannot conceal handguns in Virginia, and we cannot have that decision undermined by recognizing permits from other states with more permissive standards, Herring said when he made the announcement last week.
Republican state legislators could strip Virginia Democrat Governor Terry McAuliffe of his protective detail. Virginia Sen. Bill Carrico told The Herald Courier last Tuesday he plans to propose a budget amendment during the State Senate's January Session that would defund the governor's protective detail.

I think it is a crock, Virginia resident Ted Culberson said. I think this is a political play that will have a greater impact on Bristol, Tennessee residents than Virginia residents. If a Tennessee resident has a conceal-carry permit and has their firearm they won't even be able to cross the street.

Seems like the proper thing to do. Betcha the congress doesn’t have the stones.
The conservatives in the House of Delegates in this state are the real deal. They’ve done a good job keeping McAuliffe and his agenda bottled up.
How about states whose CCW permits aren’t recognized by Virginia returning the favor by not recognizing Virginia driver’s licenses? Make it a citation with a $500 fine, and pull over every vehicle with Virginia plates. Tit for tat.
Once again, the issue is ‘control’.

I sympathize with the folks in bristol, and i would think that ‘pushing the envelope backwards’ would work very well, for the folks on the Tenn. side, by ‘reverse ornance-ing’ the other side of the street, from chewing gum on the sidewalk on up. Make the businesses on the Va. side of the street difficult to deal with, and in fact, entice them ‘to move to another state’ by merely relocating across the street, depriving Va. of business tax revenue.
Politicians should be able to defend themselves with their Great Wit ,guns Blah

Why take it out on Virginians? This is industrial strength Democrat stupid. Pull over the cars with Obama and COEXIST bumper stickers.

And being an AZ guy I think people should shun this state until we rid the Country of McCain in politics as well.
The GOP, at every level, is full of moral cowards who are more concerned with placating the liberal MSM who hates them than they are with taking a principled stand for ANYTHING. They will do nothing.
You are obviously not from Old Dominion. We went blue because of no immigration enforcement, and that is not my opinion— there are studies showing the change in demographics. Not our fault.
This is just bluster from feckless cowards - they have no balls and will NEVER do this.
Just think of all the people who moved to Virginia from Maryland thinking they would be safe from all the stupidity.
Doesn’t matter where We’re from. AZ is going left for the same reason. It’s our job to stop it or suffer under the result. No alternatives there.
Then tell the Virgina Welfareians that their EBT/Welfare cards will not be accepted anywhere outside of their state.

We see many VA license plates in TX. There should be a $1000 fine for crossing the Texas border, and the second infraction should mean the loss of the offender’s vehicle.
