I’m not trying to elect someone who is a Christian. I strongly doubt we have had very many Christian presidents. I DO want to elect someone who respects Christianity.

I must have missed the part in the Bible where those who smoke in this life will smoke in the next as well. Too bad about CS Lewis...guess he’s burning in hell. Smoke AND drank.
And while I hate tattoos, I know Christians who have them.

For what seems like the ten thousandth time, I have never met an evangelical who promotes smoking.
That happens to be the truth. I’ve met countless evangelicals who are anti smoking. I’ve never met one who promotes it.
You’re now free to accuse me of being a liberal, and whatever other smear you might enjoy.
I’m an evangelical, and I don’t care if someone smokes. Don’t care if someone drinks in moderation. And a baptist preacher told me once that “You don’t preach against smoking in South Carolina, and you don’t preach against drinking wine in California”. Neither is sinful, at least not if one pays attention to scripture.
Nor is Cruz “promoting” smoking or tattoos.
“Fantasywriter” is a good screen name for you.
So you can display, sell and profit off the depiction of cigarettes without endorsing them.

Surely your church also displays a nude, tattooed pic of Jesus with a cigarette dangling from His lips. No doubt those are very popular pics in evangelical churches.

Please cite where God’s Word condemns cigarettes or drinking wine in moderation.
And please show where Ted Cruz has endorsed a brand of cigarettes, said smoking is great and everyone should do it, or opened a tattoo parlor.

I am looking at my old pipe right now that I haven’t used in 30 years. I have many fond memories of it. Quiet moments for reflection and thinking about God. The movement of the smoke. The smell of the match. The pleasant aroma of the tobacco from the pouch as well as the pipe.
One full pipe of tobacco BEFORE each posting might improve my comments and reduce my drive by posting. Maybe we should promote it.

Oh, I’ll be happy to do this. Just as soon, that is, as you quote and link where (1) I say I am personally against smoking and drinking in moderation, and (2) where I cited the Bible as condemning one or the other.

That's pretty harsh. I have witnessed YHWH moving mountains in my family too - Miracles. That certainly stands as proof to me (in my own self), and has a tremendous integral effect on my faith. As does the healing I have experienced in my physical body... That I declare these things, or that he declares these things, stands toward faith, not against it.

I can think of where we are told not to slander others or misrepresent their views. And I also cannot think of a single time where Ted Cruz has recommended anyone take up smoking. The pictures are CARTOONS, meant to show he is a "bad boy" in the eyes of the DC establishment.

I’ve told Baptist preachers more than once that it is Islam that condemns all smoking and drinking, not Jesus. They have yet to faint or try to throw me out of the church. Of course, there was the time I visited a small Baptist church in Texas carrying a “New English Bible” and heard that real Christians used the KJV only...thought I was going to have to fight my way out that Sunday!
