Every day a person carrying should enter these places of business accompanied by a person recording on a cell phone.
If asked to leave politely ask why. When told it is the store”policy” You state but it is the States LAW that I can carry openly and I choose to follow the law. They will likely spout some more this is our business or rules crap.Make sure everything is recorded. Be polite never cuss or raise your voice. Ask one final time are you refusing to serve me as a paying customer, making sure the response is recorded. Then leave. Post online immediately. This should be done as many times as necessary(by different people). If business drops off enough because people do not like the attitude taken the companies will eventually change the policy. Its all about the dollar bill......

If they post 30.07 signs, (as they presumably will) all your dumb stunt would do is get a bunch of OC folks charged with trespassing.

Far better to eat at others of the fine restaurants in Houston -- and let it be known far and wide why you are shunning these dumb@@$$3$...

As with 30.06 signs, the free market will take care of their stupid attitude.

~~~~~~~
CHALLENGE: Name one successful consumer business in Texas that still displays and enforces a 30.06 (concealed carry prohibition) sign.
Flaunting yourself in open carry makes you the 1st target of a thug or terrorist. Concealed carry and you retain the element of surprise. Open carry may cause the wobbly-kneed of our society to react poorly and I don’t want to inflict that stress on them or anyone. Concealed carry just works better all around regardless of any law or no law.
——Nope, keep those weapons concealed. -——
I have never seen the upside to open carry unless you are entering a area where your potential for being attacked are very high by the criminal element that lives there....
Otherwise conceal and don’t give the advantage away...
Well, normally I would overlook this kind of microaggression. But since this clown wants to deny my Second Amendment rights, I think I’ll register a complaint.
How wonderful to live in a state where you can debate not being allowed to open carry in one Mexican restaurant. We can apparently still OWN guns in CA, we just can’t carry them anywhere in any way and the police can take them away from us Friday and from then on with any reason they come up with. Unless we are a rich liberal and then we can conceal carry.
The open carry crowd responds to this argument by saying that if someone sees you are armed they are less likely to mess with you in the first place. I'm with you - the element of surprise is your most powerful weapon, never give it up.
This is hilarious, in that they are very vulnerable to boycott.
The first thing to do is to approach one of their competitors with the idea to not only welcome open carry, but to give them a discount for it, and a “family discount” on top of it, for those who open carry and bring the family.
The tiny amount of money it would cost is nothing compared to both happy regulars and new diners, as well as to increased market share.
And then, just before the competitor starts their campaign, hit Gringo’s Mexican Kitchen with the boycott, with an associated “buycott” of their competitor.
It will only take about a month for their accountants to detect what by all appearances will look like their chain is collapsing. Such people often use linear prediction, which in this case will be: “If we continue with this no guns policy we will be out of business in 6 months!”
There is no good reason generally to open carry when you can conceal carry, unless you want to be packing a Desert Eagle or something large, which sometimes is a good idea depending on what you’re doing that day.
Depends on the place and circumstances, but from a liability and insurance standpoint businesses like restaurants may be better off discouraging the practice.
... I can’t be cited if my concealed weapon prints or is momentarily revealed when I reach on a high shelf in the store...
Some of the time Florida CCW holders were not cited for that. But, some were. So, Florida has an open carry bill in the works to end that dilemma for CCW inadvertent revealing.
you can get a holster that makes it pretty darn impossible to do that. a good level 3 retention fobus would probably do the trick.
