Hillary Clinton’s State Department kept tabs on the Drudge Report, new emails released Thursday reveal.

In an April 2012 email, then-Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs Michael Hammer alerted then-Chief of Staff to Hillary Clinton Cheryl Mills about a story “running on Drudge.”

The story was about a USAID program using federal dollars to train individuals for English-speaking jobs. The headline on the Drudge Report read, “Fed Gov’t Training Foreign Workers for English-Speaking Jobs.”

Mills forwarded Hammer’s email, which included a press guidance and draft statement, to Clinton as an “Fyi.”

In another email, this one from Dec. 2011, Hammer alerted Mills to a story “playing on Drudge.”

The problem with this is if one of these “students”
that were taught english to allow them to immigrate
were terrorists.....If they are from Minanao, there is a greater chance they are.

I "keep tabs" on Drudge. It's not that hard.

Barry has his daily assessment (which he purportedly ignores) and the rest of us have ours.

As you said, it's not that hard (and I believe that we consider it essential)! (and then onto FR)

Could be. Some people seem to work so hard to earn it too.

This article is tip of the iceberg. I read Drudge constantly and have found what I believe is real censorship. My interest on the internet is mainly reading newspapers all over the world. Sometimes you find stuff about the US that is not covered in mainstream press. Lately, I have found that the link to “Der Spiegel” (German Newspaper Daily) has not been changed for some time. The front page is an unflattering picture of Chancellor Merkel in black and white with red circle with slash through it and no new news. This has gone on even though TIME named her as person of the year.
