Can Jeb Bush Make a Comeback?
Wall Street Journal ^ | 1/1/16 | Joseph Rago

-snip-

As for Mr. Trump, Mr. Bush unloads. "The people following and covering the campaigns? The cable shows? They're obsessed with Trump, and all they care about is what effect this disparaging remark will have on the campaign-it's all about nothing. It changes with each week. He's Pavlov and they're the dog, basically. I've never seen anything quite like it.

Comeback implies he actually was somewhere

I keep seeing this posted here, and I don't know where people get this idea that comeback implies that you were once ahead. It's not true. Comeback means that you were behind, and came back to win. That's all it means. You can have a comeback in a football game from being one point behind or 27 behind. Either way, it's a comeback, and you do not need to have ever been leading. Ask Frank Reich or Joe Montana.

Can Bush come back? Hell no. He's at 3, needs to beat whoever is in first. Trump is in first, at over 40 or so. It will never happen. Bush will only continue to sink.

Yes, the Bush Family List is stellar, maybe even a President.

Mr. Bush believes, in any case, that the Trump thrill is gone—or at least going. “I don’t think it’s long-lasting, because he’s not offering anything to solve the problems.”>>>
has Jeb read any of his policy papers or just does he just listen to the speeches:
clear veteran policy
clear second amendment policy
build a wall — immigration policy
clear tax policy — economic policy, inversion, lower taxes
get rid of dept of education. delete common core

A candidate needs 8 states vote in a majority to be a candidate at the convention.

It has been said on every thread about this supposed "comeback" that comeback means you were once at the top. It does not, as I explained. Your post used the word "somewhere". Mine was not specifically directed at you, but to the misunderstanding of what a comeback is that seems to have taken hold among many freepers.

If you want me to address your post, it implies pretty much the same mistaken notion about what a comeback is. You have to have been somewhere to come back is I think how you put it. He is somewhere, he is in the race, far at the back of the pack, ahead of Pataki but behind Rubio and hanging out with Fiorina and Christie, which is exactly where a comeback comes from. What you said makes no sense in English terms. He could technically make a comeback (although no one thinks he will). If you know what a comeback is, then you know that's what Bush has to have if he wants to win. But you said Bush can't make a comeback because he never was "somewhere".

So, in the famous words of Inigo Montoya,

I think we both agree that Bush will not make a comeback, so we have that going for us.

Words mean things. Use them correctly, and precision can be your friend. This just came across my desk:

It wasn't just you using the word incorrectly. Now go forth and sin no more!

Despite what you may have heard no one can “win the internet”, so you can quit trying..... Now go get a new hobby.

Yet you seem to be trying, even though you concede your initial error, but instead sought to minimize it.

He's either delusonal or he knows something we don't

Maybe he knows the number of "extra" delegates available to the GOPe?

They can throw a serious monkey-wrench to the 1,473 state delegates.
