I believe it is true First Baptist still has some contact with Beth Moore, women’s conferences in particular. When I speak of them parting ways, I am only thinking about the staff, church home connection, and I concede I did not make that as clear as I should have. I understand your sentiment. I was raised in a “fightin fundy” church for many years, and that was the template, exactly as you presented it. However, the text you quote can be abused, and is abused, when it is applied to anything other than the book to which it refers, the Revelation of Jesus Christ as recorded by the Apostle John. Not that we are free to alter God’s word anywhere it is found. Not at all. But it does not preclude God continuing to speak to His people.
For example, if you pray to God, should I marry this person, or take this job? And there is nothing against Scripture in the choices set before you, don’t you still want to know the mind of God for your specific situation? And if you believe you have an answer from God, then you have accepted the premise that God continues to speak to His people, and really we’re only quibbling about how.
So as long as anyone claiming divine insight can back it up with Scripture and the sound judgment of seasoned believers, I am not going to second-guess how God is leading that person. That’s between them and God. But if they cross that line, and start teaching as divine doctrine things that fail to pass the Scriptural smell test, that’s something they should be called on.

Well, you are a writer, right? You understand the interchangeability of words, especially across diverse languages. Minion is just another word for one who serves a powerful master. Find any human who ever was a flunky for Satan, and the point is proven.
Besides, if you’re going to insist on the exact word as found in Holy Writ, you’ll have to resort to the Hebrew and Greek, because if you say it in English, you’ve been forced to use (gasp!) a dictionary. :)

FWIW, I’m happy with either Cruz or Trump. Each has something more to offer than the other, but both are infinitely better than the remaining candidates from all parties.
I don't really understand that feeling. Images of rehearsed faith and love, and even sights of the mother cringing when Cruz adds "[she prays] for hours!" just doesn't look good.
I suspect it looks "idiotic" to people who are determined not to vet their own candidates, and not because they have a good reason to feel the way they do.

TPP is not going anywhere. And the vote for TPP will come about with or without TPA. TPA merely fast tracked negotiations while at the same time amending congress’s power to give an up or down vote, instead of amending it.

As far as I know, the person who was designated a minion of Satan confesses Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. What are the Biblical guidelines for calling a professing believer a minion of Satan?
It may surprise you to know that the English words used in the NT have Greek counterparts. If you have a Biblical text alluding to minions of Satan, I would be just as happy to receive it in Greek as in English. The critical issue is what ***the Bible***, in either the original text or a translation, says about minions of Satan. It is an immanently legitimate question under the circumstances. Still waiting for an honest, straightforward answer.
Btw, I have nothing against using a dictionary. I used one last night to look up the word ‘bourn.’ It wasn’t a Biblical word before I looked it up, and the fact that I located it in the dictionary didn’t make it a Biblical word. In the case of ‘bourn,’ however, I believe, if memory serves, that its equivalent is mentioned in the OT. In the case of ‘minion of Satan,’ I’m still waiting for a Biblical text/reference to study and analize.
Besides, the old they-will-do-it-anyway isn't a reason to vote for it. That is like saying Cruz should vote for a bill authorizing Obama's new gun grab because Obama did it anyway. You cannot put lipstick on this pig of a vote. It was a corporate giveaway and an Obama wet kiss.
