BILOXI, MS â On a chilly January evening, Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump addressed an overflowing crowd at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum â at a rally billed as the largest presidential campaign event in Mississippi history.
Trumpâs wide-ranging speech touched on topics from âTrojan horseâ Syrian refugees and trade deals to Common Core, the Iran nuclear deal, illegal immigration and ISIS.
He told the audience that although he has not spent the most money of the GOP candidates he will begin to spend more in order to avoid taking âany chances.â Trump, however, argued his campaign should be a model for the government to function.

Was a awesome rally.
Biggest political rally in Mississippi history.
They do not consider us as Americans. We do not count. To them, we do not exist.
Trump’s best tactic should be to force Clinton out of hiding, and into a real campaign, and not the lounge chair campaign she wants to have. We know that he can campaign rings around her. Once she has to have events every day, and be subjected to at least some form of media scrutiny, within a couple of weeks she’d probably have a stroke or a nervous breakdown. Right now she stages one small, tightly controlled “rally” and a softball interview, and then takes several days off to recuperate. I saw her give an interview in Iowa a couple of weeks ago following one of her tiny events, and she looked like she was about to keel over during the softball interview.
So far, so good for Trump, but he’s going to have to start giving specifics as to HOW he will do what he says he will do.
Too many promises without specific plans as to how to achieve his goals and he risks being labeled just another “Politician with Promises.”
Trump obviously recognizes that he is as much in battle with the MSM as he is with the Democrats, and it’s clear he doesn’t mind taking the battle to them.
“They do not consider us as Americans. We do not count. To them, we do not exist.”
Actually, “they” (meaning establishment politicians) don’t consider any of us to be anything of any consequence except at election time. If these rallies are any indication of the depth of Trump’s support, this election is going to be a landslide! I just hope his coattails take out some of the key GOPe a$$holes (like McLame).
I like that The Donald understands that you don’t get rich writing a lot of checks.
Like the Doodah man? :)
It was a repeat of the last couple of other Trump Stumps. The real gem is Trumps appearance on CBS’s face the nation. Trump was superb. I wish he can bring some of that to his stump speeches.
Some might remember that during 1980, Carter decided to employ the "Rose Garden" strategy of campaigning rather than go head-to-head with Reagan on the campaign trail. To an extent, George Bush did the same thing in 1992 against Bill Clinton. We know how those two elections turned out.
Got a link??
There are some pretty specific position papers on his website, including one on immigration drafted with Jeff Sessions’ help. Have a look.
This is history repeating itself.
Ronald Reagan was perceived as a candidate that had the public's ear but could he REALLY deliver.. especially when he didn't give details other than cutting taxes and backing off the Government's control of things. He also promised to make America great again.
My point: I think after what most voters have experienced from previous politicians they are MORE than willing to take a chance on Trump.
Myself.. I believe Trump would EXCEED expectations by a mile if elected.
If he discloses too many details, the bureaucracies of the various DC agencies will work with Capital Hill to neutralize him before he takes office.
Electing a President is not about who has the most detailed "plans" filled with fine print and footnotes that will be mechanically executed, because the Duties of Office of the POTUS are not subject to being scripted like that.
You judge the man, not the plan. You want a seasoned executive who can put together an effective team to execute a broad vision, who can inspire the public, and who excels at crisis management, because every presidency has to deal with the unforeseen. The fact is a good portion of the electorate has already judged Trump positively by these criteria, and that's why he's the front runner.
Worth repeating...bump!
Someone here posted that Hil has 10 events scheduled in 3 states the next 4 days or so - let’s see how much time she has to take off if she makes it through that!
