Exclusive: 1974 Canadian Electors' List Named Ted Cruz's Parents
Breitbart ^ | 1/8/16 | JOEL B. POLLAK

Posted on 01/08/2016 1:28:29 PM PST by jimbo123

A document uncovered by Breitbart News indicates that the parents of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) were named on a Calgary list of electors for Canada's federal election of July 8, 1974.

Ted Cruz's parents are listed as "Cruz, Eleanor, Mrs." and "Cruz, Raphael, self employed," both at 920 Riverdale Avenue, South West in Calgary, Alberta.

Canadian law restricts (and restricted) federal voting rights to Canadian citizens.

In a statement to Breitbart News-the full text of which follows this article-Jason Johnson, chief strategist for Cruz for President, said that "the document itself does not purport to be a list of 'registered Canadian voters.' All this might conceivably establish is that this list of individuals (maybe) lived at the given addresses. It says nothing about who was a citizen eligible to vote."

So Breitbart has gone over to the liars brigade?

The fear of having an honest man in office has a tight grip on politics these days.

Did Dan Rather find the BS document for them?

Did Mary Mapes hand deliver it?

The stench is getting unbearable.

As long as Canada doesn’t require photo ID at the polls, what difference does it make?

As a general rule, Canada does require photo ID at the polls: a driver's licence or other government-issued card with name, photo, and current address.

It is possible to vote if you show two pieces of ID that establish your name and address, but don't necessarily include a photo— by showing, say, your birth certificate and uncashed income tax refund cheque.

Either way, it is necessary to establish your identity and current address at the polling place in order to vote.

Something else I heard about Cruz.

He was funneling money to B Clinton even though he knew B Clinton was a serial pedophile rapist.

Sorry my mistake, that was Trump not Cruz.

“of an argument to keep a Cruz victory tied-up in Liberal circuit courts for months”

I don’t think you have much to worry about.

No, this is a enumerated list of voters. Canadians don’t have to register to vote. Just show up , identify themselves, mark the ballot , drop it in the box and get on with living.

Just to be precise, Canadians are registered to vote. Other than for a recent change of address, say, there's no additional work that I as a voter need to do to be eligible to vote. No need for voter registration drives up here.

There is a database of eligible voters called the National Register of Electors, which is compiled from data shared by various government agencies: tax returns, driver's licences, citizenship applications, and so forth.

When I walk into the polling place, my name is already on their rolls, and when I receive my ballot, it's crossed off the list.

Sen Cruz’s mother could not have been a legal Canadian citizen at the time of Sen Cruz’s birth. Canadian law required 5 years of residence within Canada. His family move there in 1967 and Sen Cruz was born in 1970.

His mother was not a Canadian citizen, nor could she have legally been a Canadian citizen.

Don’t waste your emotion. No matter what is presented some people will still demand more, not because they believe this carp but because they an’t come up with a real, logical, factual argument against Cruz.

Read the article before posting. It clearly says that Eleanor Cruz could not have been a Canadian citizen in 1970, when Ted was born. She had only lived in Canada for three years, and 5 years residence was required.

That is the sort of thing, which if true, makes the entire point of someone writing an article about this, silly, misleading, and pointless.

"Second, the document is from 1974. That is four years after Senator Cruz was born, so even if this document said anything about citizenship—and it does not—it would be irrelevant to the citizenship status of his mother at the time of his birth, which is the only relevant status for determining Cruz’s natural-born citizenship. "

Precisely correct. Unless/until documentary proof is provided his mother forfeited her birth citizenship, Ted Cruz is a Citizen of the US by birth, whether all the correct paperwork is in place or not.

1). This is a census document which showed that they lived at that address - IT DOES NOT say that they were registered voters. 2). This census was from several years after Senator Cruz was born. 30). Senator Cruz was born three years after his mom moved to Canada - Canada requires you to reside in Canada for at least 5 years before you can apply for citizenship. So, there is no way that Sen. Cruz’s mom was a Canadian citizen when he was born.

For the dimwitted:

"It would NOT HAVE BEEN LEGALLY POSSIBLE for Ted's mother to be a Canadian citizen. They moved to Canada in 1967. Ted was born in 1970.

Canada:

REQUIRES 5 YEARS OF RESIDENCE IN ORDER TO BECOME A CITIZEN."

His mother is a U.S. citizen (Born and raised here in the USA).

When they moved to Canada to work, she was a citizen of the USA.

When Ted Cruz was born in 1970, she was a citizen of the United States, (See above paragraph underlined in red) which makes Ted Cruz a natural born citizen of the USA.

It should be noted his mom is a citizen of the United States today.

(I really hope people don't fall for this stupidity.)

Cruz is one of the best lawyers in the country- he will be able to handle any bull the dems might try. And whoever thought the dems/GOPe weren't going to attack anyway-It's what they do.

Does anyone think if Trump is the nominee that they won't attack him over whatever they can find?

Does anyone really believe Cruz would be running if he couldn't?

How about Trump saying with absolute certainty that Cruz was fine- no problems with eligibility in September?

But now 3 weeks before Iowa Caucuses Trump lobs this BS at Cruz .

This tells me the polls have to be going in Cruz's favor.

And make no mistake- Cruz IS the number one target of both the democrats and GOPe:

CRUZ WILL NOT GO ALONG WITH THEIR (Dem-GOPe-SOROS Elites) PLANS TO DESTROY OUR CONSTITUTION AND BRING US DOWN.
