My translation of above:
A law enforcement official answered the question of where the men [attackers] originated and told the paper his squad arrested 15 that night. These people were definitely only a few weeks or days in the country. "Of these men, 14 were from Syria and one from Afghanistan." ---
Again my semi decent translation:
Yet still the chief of police continued to say that there was no evidence any refugees were involved. Yet in other official protocols some leading police were known to say that some of the arrested people ripped up their refugee papers. "You can't do nuthin to me, I'll get me another one tomorrow," said one man with a sneer. "I'm a Syrian. You have to be nice to me. Mrs. Merkel invited me here," said another.

There is a lot about the way the media handled this ghastly situation thereafter. Only the local news got the info out to the rest of the world at first. There seems to have been a concerted effort to keep this out of the major press.
I apologize for the mess in my post where all the umlauts turn into gibberish on FreeRepublic. I don't know how to fix it.
Rats, I messed up on a very important part. After the police say that, of the 15 men they arrested, 14 were from Syria and 1 was from Afghanistan, they go on to say “That is the truth. Even if it hurts.”
0bama hates Christians and is bringing the jihadis here to do the work he is too cowardly to try himself.
I heard on FOX that one of those arrested was an American, who I’m guessing is either black, or a Muslim with US citizenship.
We do not want this here.
Sharia countries need to take these beasts. Not the west.
I hadn’t read there was an American. You are right, I’m finding it too.
They were just getting their lives turned around too.
Thank you very much for this post.
Guess the Germans were nostalgic for when Red Army troops would say, “Frau, komm”.
This is getting to be the same type of chaos that happened during the Weimar days - not the economic but the social chaos and we know how the Germans responded then. I predict that they will set aside the political correctness and Muslims will be begging the get out.
So, only 15 refugees. Since they estimated that 1000 people attacked the women, that would mean 985 of them are ETHNIC GERMANS...so who are we to cast stones?
(the way Germans view this)
The timeline is something I’ve wondered about. If it happened over a span of six hours, with the most intense assaults and crime spanning three or four hours, then that is a colossal failure by the police. I saw an article earlier that hinted the police withheld information in order to avoid justifying the “xenophobes”. I can see that being the case for the media, but I think the police are just trying to hide their incompetence.
FWIF, the Cologne Chief of Police has been fired!

Thanks for posting this.
And how many are Christians, and how many heathen?
The quote was from one leader cop whose squad or whatever caught 15. Of those, ALL were in the country for weeks or less. There were others caught by other law enforcement.
The cops took so long to do anything, that once it was that throng of hundreds / a thousand, they couldn’t tell who did what to whom!
They said that women getting off the train to go home had to try and run a gauntlet through this crowd!!
How to fix and reformat the mess...
Click Preview and all those weird things will show up.. the “ ‘ - etc
Then just click Edit and delete and retype them..check Preview to make sure they’re gone and to find more
it takes a few minutes but they will be gone
:)
Two things: the police, along with the good German people, are overwhelmed, unprepared, and not anticipating such horror in their cities. But yes, THEY SHIRKED THEIR DUTIES at 7, 7:30, by not clearing the place when the thugs were throwing firecrackers into the crowd. This was preventable.
Firecrackers are normal on New Year’s Eve there, but done in back yards or other safe spaces, not hurling them in a public place.
Probably the police are afraid on both sides, much like ours: afraid of the thugs, and afraid of the response if they go after the thugs by the media et al. It doesn’t help that the world still remembers the SS troops and a modern German cop wants to be seen as a decent law enforcer.
Yes, he deserved to be fired.
I honestly didn’t know how to retype the German without the umlauts. I’m sorry. I hope FR can get back to how it was when it could handle the weirder symbols.
Yea, I read all that. Not too long ago I also read a piece saying that European countries simply don’t have enough police/military to control this bunch. It totally spooked me at the time and now appears to be proven out.
Europe is playing with fire here - a well-coordinated offensive just might overthrow their governments, that’s how weak they now are.
You’re right. They are not ready. They don’t know what they have done. And to be fair, the police did not make these immigration decisions.
Yep. With that much time the police could have done much more. But clearly a decision was made not to, no doubt because someone at a high level knew it would be ugly and would make explosive international headlines. The police chief resigned earlier today. Now I’m curious about whether he was under any pressure from the mayor to have his force basically stand down.
Looks like the War On Terrorism has more or less petered out.....
From the Neue Zurcher Zeitung around Jan 1:
zac./fbi.
That is one part of the article. But it’s saying that some of the same exact kinds of attacks happened on New Years Eve in Zurich, Switzerland as well. I know the city well and this saddens me.
My translation:
Apparently in Zurich on New Year’s Eve several sexual assaults happened to women. These happened in coordination with robbery. Communicating with the Zurich city police we find that in a half dozen cases, women were robbed and also sexually assaulted at the same time.
Some of the victims described being attacked in large groups of men with darker skin. At the same time as having their possessions stolen, they were sexually assaulted through their clothing.
Some of these attacks happened on New Year’s Eve already, and some have happened today [January 1, 2016] in the past 24 hours. The descriptions of the victims are similar to that of the victims in Germany. We still need to clear up whether these cases were robberies or rapes.
Let me help you with that, Zurich: they were BOTH!
As we see, the police in Europe are so unready for crimes of this nature that they don’t even know which department to list them under.
We are all in deep doo doo if they let these guys in our country.
Here are two:
Why we citizens demand to be armed>
Why Obama doesn't want us to be armed.
One of the more unbelievable parts of the episode is that the Koln cops would have had a reserve police force around to help on evenings like this. Well....their reserve force wasn’t in Koln....they were in Bavaria because of the inflow of refugees coming into the country, and Bavaria’s demand for more cops there to help control the mess.
They’ve got four weeks before Fasching season starts up in Koln. Either the German military has to be called in, or the reserve cops brought back....otherwise, if I were a resident of the city and thinking about going to the parades or parties during Fasching....I’d decline and just stay home. It would be a massive public relations mess for Merkel and the politicians in Berlin....if a quarter or third of the normal crowds for the parade...just don’t show up.
Vigilante justice is better than no justice, and is also far better than perverse justice of the state protecting the muslim attackers.
You know I had a thought about an appropriate punishment, since muslins are so fond of chopping off heads..................
You’re right. In Switzerland Fasnacht is two weeks of nighttime — and for some, 24/7 — costumes and drinking and being out on the streets and in the bars. Parades at 4 am. That is going to be a disaster if these mass gropes happen then, either way.
Go west young Muslim man, your virgins are free and you don’t have to die to get them.
Those German girls were asking for it otherwise they’d wear burkas out in public. What were beautiful Teutonic women doing out at night anyway, it’s a man’s world. /sarc
It’s Germany so probably more like 9mm, not .45.
But it's a "What If" and the .45 leaves a much more lasting impression.
