The highest deity mentioned in the Kalevala (the Finnish national folk epic) is the thunder god Ukko. He is only mentioned occasionally. There are several minor deities, like Ahti (sea deity) and Tapio (forest deity). There are so many nature spirits that the language has a special suffix (-tar) for forming their names. E.g., ilma=air, so Ilmatar is "air spirit."
In contrast to the folklore of many other countries, the characters in Finnish folkore and mythology are mostly people, though often with magic powers. Gods play only minor roles.
The article mentions a group called the "Sisters of Kyllikki." In the Kalevala, Kyllikki (a.k.a. the Maiden of the Island) was a hot babe who was most notable for her unfaithfulness. If they wanted a more noble name, they should have named themselves after the Matriarch of North Farm and called themselves the "Sisters of Louhi."
